Just wondering if its the tropics or that its heavy use that destroys my mouses. I generally buy the more expensive logitech game mouses and wireless ones for 2000+ baht. These mouses only seem to last me around 9 months before i get double click problems. The button clicks twice or does not hold it click when i drop and drag.

I do a lot of work every day one could say I am computer addicted (also because of work). So i know I am a heavy user but I don't remember having those problems in the Netherlands. I also switched brands, and it gives the same problem after a while. I tried cleaning but that seldom works. I wonder if its the tropics or something like that.

I have of course updated drivers, changed settings as recommended on the internet as I am not a beginner when its about computers. Just want to know if other heavy computer users have this problem. I am not talking about your average computer user but someone who spend hours and hours with the computer.

Have you turned on the single click in Folder Options. This obviously reduces the use of the switches inside the mouse.

Is MICE not the plural of mouse?   LOL But then again, what's the plural of HOUSE?

Ditto here, same issue.

The cheap (chinese of course) micro-switches wear out.

They are easy to replace if you have a soldering iron (and solder), solder pump and small screwdrivers (and as we age a magnifier).

EDIT These switches fit the common rodents https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10PCS-Button-Switch-3Pin-Mouse-Switch-Microswitch-For-RAZER-Logitech-G700-Mouse/32723355715.html

My mistake i knew it was mice, just did not really think *G*.  Thanks for the idea of changing it to a single click. Will see if it works.

Thanks Crossy, i won't bin my expensive mice then but keep them and try to repair them. I just wanted to know if others have the same problem. I am happy to learn it's not just me.

Your battery solution for my baitboat worked too, the batteries were exactly the same size too.

At $.0.61 incl postage (for 10), but 30 - 50 days delivery, AND a $3 new user discount, will they send me $2.39 with the switches?   lol

9 months seems indeed very short (but you are still on warranty, so just have it replaced), my mice last way longer than that (maybe 3 years, using them many hours each day), but the reason that the mice stop working is because the buttons fail, same as in your case.

But after 3 years the soft rubber coating, or even the color is wearing off, so i don't mind replacing the mouse then. I usually use logitech gaming mice in the lower price spectrum, currently it's a G402, will see how long it lasts

Used single click for many years, but agree they never appear to last more than a year for me, cheaper ones [600 - 900 baht] 6 - 9 months, because of arthritis and bigger hands tend to buy by size [easier to use]  normal pay about 1,500 - 1,700 baht.........  the one I like is 4,990 baht, just cannot justify paying that much and would they last longer ?   Stopped buying logitech as they last no time at all, or at least here..... used to buy Mouse + Keyboard + web cam logitech

Also find keyboards  don't last, and again pay about 1,500 - 1,700 baht. again would paying  6,390 baht, just for the keyboard last longer ?

Dou you use a mousepad? I'm a heavy user. Have a laptop and a PC. Yes, true, I replaced my mice a few times, but at the moment I don't have any issues anymore, especially since I'm using a mousepad. The logitec wireless mouse for my laptop works over two years and the mouse from my gaming pc even longer. I don't know how often I clicked on that one. With the first person shooting games, it must be in the millions.

Extra drivers don't help. On the contrary, they make things worse. If you have a mobile phone or tablet, you can connect your mouse with a mini usb adapter. If it works well, then there might be something wrong with your computer. Comes the same problem, then obviously it is your mouse. If your computer has connection problems, your usb ports might be doing a bad job. Cleaning might help.

Try a good MS Mouse.

I have an MS ergonomic mouse since at least 5 years and only now does it sometimes have problem with the double-click.

And I worked more or less 24/7 with that thing. I will definitely buy MS again.

A not perfect but possible fix is to open the mouse and change over the switches from the left and right mouse buttons. It's likely you will use the secondary button a lot less than the primary button. And yes, you need a soldering iron and know how to use it.

I tried razor, tried MS too and of course logitech as its my favorite. They all die though some hold on to life longer then others. I will get some switches and do an operation on a non functioning mouse because its destined for the bin anyway and i might learn something from soldering it.

For now i got an other mouse and a replacement ready, its real annoying when working (need to drag and drop files (yes can work with Ctrl C and Ctrl + V too) but not always.

Just a big shame how bad the quality of mice has become.
