January 11, 20197 yr For 2 days now, I get no response from the left click mouse button when attempting to open a new page. Example: In Yahoo mail, when I open TV, left click works to open but to read a topic I have to use right-click to "open link in new tab". This isn't limited to TV, but to all sites. Also when viewing a video, left click will not enable full screen. Anyone have any suggestions for a fix.
January 11, 20197 yr is this windows operating system? go to settings , click devices and then choose mouse and check your settings including additional settings on that list.......
January 11, 20197 yr This is likely to be a browser issue. You dont say which browser you are using, but try using another and see if you get the same problem. Common browsers are Edge, Firefox, Chrome ....
January 11, 20197 yr Author I had already checked device settings and drivers, which were correct and up to date. Per KK's suggestion, I opened Opera and had no left click issues. I then restored Chrome settings to their original defaults and reinstalled my extensions and that resolved the issues. But I'm baffled as to what caused the problem?
January 11, 20197 yr Do you leave you computer on all the time? I mean you only let it hibernate/sleep...never a complete power down. Sometimes mouse/mousepad drivers just get confused/partially locked-up using web-based apps and it takes a power down or restart to allow everything to reboot....then the mouse/mousepad works fine. May be due to a glitch in a particular webpage you visit frequently which triggers the problem or some driver/app conflicts. Occasionally my Lenovo laptop mouse pad stopped letting me scroll thru a webpage...working one second and then just stops working regardless of whether I'm use Chrome, IE, or Edge. Everything else on the mousepad continues to work. I can still scroll by click along scroll "bar" usually on the right side of any long webpage, but just using two fingers on the pad to scroll stops working. Fortunately, it only happens around once a month but it does happen....it always usually seems to happen when I let my computer go to sleep "while the browser was still open." Have reinstall mousepad drivers, check settings many times. But what always fixes the situation is a restart....and fortunately it don't happen often....and as mentioned I'm pretty sure it only happens (when it happens) when the computer went to sleep when a browser page was still open.
January 11, 20197 yr The lastest Ghostery Chrome extension has caused problems with new tab openings. If you have Ghostery go to Extension settings and disable Ghostery and it may solve your problem.

Something similar happened to me with Firefox once and a reset cured it.
