When I print, the street markings and more are very faint and difficult to get a clear understanding of the roads / streets roads. etc.

 

I've tried B&W and monochrome printing, no better.

 

Any tricks / any suggestions appreciated. 

Perhaps do a PrtSc SysRq, copy and paste onto your smartphone? You can enhance it then without needing to print.

I had the same problem, wanted it for visa extension. My solution was to take a screen shot, save it as a jpg file and edit it in a photo editing program (mainly contrast), then it printed out fine. I hope this helps.
