Hello,

i want to do a visarun to Ban Phu Nam Ron border by myself with own car to get a new 30 day VOA.  can someone please answer my questions

1. is there a parking place for cars

2. border open monday to sunday

3. i have three 60 days TV with 30 days extensions,  all from laos, and two 30 days VOA also with 30 days extension in my passport

the two VOA are both from last year (april and june). Will this history become a problem at the border?

4. after crossing thaiborder. transport with miniybus to myanmar border incl myanmar border pass around 1000 THB, is that right?

thank you very much

yep, ill second that. no probs. 960b. heaps of parking. Visit the lil box on the left and hand over your passport and pay the money and wait for a car/van to myanmar.

Still within the allowable visits so shouldnt be an issue.

Did one there recently. ฿960.

take a good book, a bottle of water and plenty of smokes if you need them.

A back brace is useful.  The trip to Burma Immigration is “undulating”.  ????

Maybe I'm thinking of "Nam Phu Ron"  ????  ?????

Yes you are but it is spelled incorrectly. That is where the crossing called Ban Pakad to Pailin Cambodia is located

Pong Nam Ron District, Chanthaburi, Thailand

Just a warning for South Africans.

I went on Saturday (14th Sep) to Phu Nam Ron Kanchanaburi border with my intention to get a 90 day extension on my NON-O based on marriage.

Had a long back and forth with the Thai immigration side only to be told because of some political reasons all South African passport holders are being denied on the Myanmar side regardless if you are going for a NON-O extension or a tourist.

I was unable to go through the border and made my way to Bangkok to join a visa run service to Cambodia.

Yours is not the first report of South Africans not being able to enter Myanmar without a visa for entry. No clarification as to why you cannot get a border pass.

A company that does the runs to there has this on their website. "Myanmar border NOT OK for Russian or South African"

I plan to do visit and renter on my non o multi entry. Is this OK if done on the same day? What exactly are the requirements for entering Myanmar? Do I need to take photos and is there a large stamp in your passport? These can take a lot of room over the years. Thanks in advance.

No problem to it the same day.

At Ban Phu Nam Ron you will pay about 950 baht for transport across no mans land and back again that includes 500 baht for a Myanmar border pass.

No need for a photo and no full page visa sticker. Just a couple of small departure and entry stamps.

Thanks for these details ubonjoe.  I've done the Mae Sai run in the past, and the desk there accepted $10USD or 500 baht.  Do you know if the same can be done at Phu Nam Ron? E.g. Could I pay 460baht for the service, and $10 for the border pass?

No. The whole process at Ban Phu Nam Ron is a mild scam which you cannot circumvent. If allowed to do everything yourself, it would be a maximum of US$10 plus 100 baht, but you are obliged to pay off the officials.

Thanks BritTim. 960baht it is then.  I guess all things considered, it is better than the situation at all the Cambodian border posts. ????
