Images/thumbnails in folder view gone ?

Featured Replies

Anyone now how to get the images/icons/thumbnails view back ? (windows 10)

When looking in a folder the images have all disappeared ?

I have tried various online fixes regarding removing ticks in boxes etc in "folder view" but nothing seems to work ?

Any ideas ? and why has this happened all of sudden - update ?

Have you also gone through the "Disk Cleanup" method selecting only "Thumbnails"?

This should empty the so called thumbnail cache.

When reopening a folder the thumbnails should be rebuilt.

From the descriptions it seems that this/these cache(s) get corrupted (for whatever reason).

Yep, been through that process too, It seems to have resolved most folders but not all, particularly the main "pictures, docs" folders which remain on the default icon.

I have side stepped the issue somewhat by using a basic pic viewer which shows all the images in a chosen folder, but would like it to be as it should rather than using additional software.
