To be perfectly blunt, trying to go anywhere non-local on public transport on a Saturday would be best described as 'dumb as a post.'

If you've got money, why not book a limo door to door if it's supposed to be a luxury weekend? It's not even very expensive.

You're wrong bud. I've done this many times in the past few years. I had over 50 Pattaya weekends this way including major holidays. Ekkamai bus is very fast and efficient. They literally leave every 10-20 minutes. The difference is in the past we'd arrive around 10 in the morning wait a bit and off we go. In time for lunch in Patterz then check into our room.

My wife will not be chauffeured by anyone except her family, so it wouldn't make any difference anyway. She just doesn't like it unless it makes sense (to her) like we did in Bali where there is no other way to travel.

Thanks for the post...it seems "Thainess" is more common than I thought...

My favorite...ask her a yes or no question...she answers with a question...every time...????

So the bus from Ekkamai is a self-driving Tesla version then.  I never knew.

I think it's strange if people seem to have only negative thoughts about their partner.

Sure, most of us have trouble from time to time and/or we don't like certain things and behavior.

But what's the point in staying with a partner if all is wrong?

I'm still trying to figure out who was the incompetent one in the OP.

I would have pre-booked the limo long before my wife even considered a dirty weekend in Patts.  But, that's just me and she's never complained.

Maybe she never complained, but how many guys on here would throw a hissy fit if their wife spent THEIR money like that?

Not me and no problem for either of us.  As long as I have the money then I'll travel the most convenient, coolest and quickest way to our destination.

Oh, I'm with you 100%.  The caveat being "as long as I have the money".  Personally, I always drove.  In my 25 year old pickup. Looking back, I'd have been better off hiring a limo and never buying the truck.  That doesn't mean buying the pickup was a dumb decision.  It just means that circumstances changed and in retrospect a different decision would have been better.  Kind of like in the OP.  That's why I'm still trying to figure out who was the incompetent one.

Then again, I would not go to Pattaya.

We concur.  Our Pattaya days are long gone and we only ever travelled there to see friends anyway.

I think you need to give her a good seeing to in the bedroom. That always cheers me up after she has annoyed me.

Should have done it in Subway really. Next time she'd let you do the planning.

Deaf as a post.  Is this forum entirely populated by ignorami?

What would a load of paper folders be doing on here?

Oh yes, complaining about the quality, price, aroma, appearance and availability of foldable paper in Thailand and the vacuousness of those who sell it.

Ye're right thair, Imam. Don't mock a man till ye've walked a mile in his shoes.  At least that way ye've got a head start, and ye've got his shoes.

Just 1 thread. Before that she was the best wife in Thailand.

Welcome to the exclusive club of farang men that married the best little wife ever, only to have her turn into the hag from hell.

I stuck with my hag from hell for 3 years before accepting that she was never going to go back to being that lovely woman that I married. I did get 2 good years though, so not a complete loss.

Sometimes I remember the good times, and it breaks my heart all over again.

I don't know what became of her, but I doubt she is happy.

She always had the knack of making me want to protect her, and at that time I could forgive her anything, but when she pushed the wrong buttons ……………………………..

So what has changed so dramatically? Menopause?

I think mine got the menopause, plus bipolar disorder. Unfortunately she would have died before seeking help for a "mental" disorder.

Some people seems to have bad luck with women where ever they go. Strange... whats wrong with the women on this planet?

Have you read Men are from Mars, etc? That makes a pretty good stab at it.

Basically, marriage was for an age when men worked very hard all day, and died at 40, while women raised the children and kept the house before carking it at about 45. Too many years and too much leisure time now for two basically incompatible people to survive marriage.

It's nothing to do with right or wrong. It's a control thing, and she wants to be the controller.

Back in Bangkok now.

I still can't wrap my head around seeing prostitutes tho

I see an increased number of Chinese using Thai hookers these days and I think these Asian men expect some kind of a commitment after paying and feeding them hotel breakfast in the morning. Nope, the little Asian can't wait to leave and her goodbye as as passionate as the improbable sex they had last night.

Not to mention that after seeing these men who paid to have the unforgettable time in Pattaya with these bargirls I don't think I would be able to even cuddle wit them. I simply can't unsee some of these Asian guys. Not that I am judgmental about men, but the fact that these women will sleep with just about anyone for cash is a big turnoff.

And she wouldn't go inside taxi. She doesn't like being driven in the car by strangers.

I would have got a taxi to Pattaya on my own, and just left her there.

Then banged something really young and cute or got drunk and passed out, whichever came first.
