Driver escapes injury after truck lane change sees car flip several times on main Phuket road

PHUKET: A truck driver has been fined B400 for reckless driving and causing damage to other people’s property after he changed lanes on Thepkrasattri Rd yesterday afternoon, forcing a Suzuki Swift car onto the central reservation, causing it spin out of control and roll several times before coming to a stop.

 

The driver of the Suzuki Swift, 30-year-old Nopphawong Phetkong, escaped with only minor injuries.

 

Capt Ekkasak Kwanwan of the Thalang Police was informed of the accident, near new PTT petrol station on Thepkrasattri Rd, in Moo 5, Tambon Thepkrasattri, at 3:30pm.

Wow a whole 400 baht that will stop him from doing that again , sorry but that is a pathetic amount considering the damage to the car and could have possibly killed the driver .

Well he was lucky to survive that. Say a lot about the safety cell design of a Suzuki Swift.

And the retard Thai male driving the truck that caused the accident was fined only 400 Baht and no mention of the fact his license had expired so hence guilty of driving without a license - Amassing Thailand indeed.

just what I think pathetic fine....should be banned for one year and then have to take driving test again ....

I don't think the cops have the first clue about deterring drivers from moronic and dangerous driving. A 400 baht fine will do NOTHING to change this driver or others from just driving however they feel like doing with zero concern for others. Swift driver very lucky, because that car is a mess.

Police logic, a small car made smaller = small fine

owners of the truck should be charged and fined as well as they should know if their drivers have a licence or not, fact it expired in jan and they are still allowing him to drive shows total lack of concern on their part, big fine and charges

 

400thb ? a sick joke, fine him 20,000THB, + no driving license for 1 year + pay all damages caused.

400thb, the happy fellow will drive crazy again tomorrow, as he will laugh !

OMG that's going to teach him a lesson he won't forget... for about a nano second!!!!!

400 THB !, that just goes to show the Government,Courts are in
