Grass Seed

Featured Replies

Does anyone know where in Phuket I can buy grass seed? Have tried all the logical sources (shops, nurseries) and can find only sod/turf. Thanks for any suggestions!

The subject comes up again and again. The answer, basically, is "no have" , Germination at high temperatures is difficult, and continued irrigation would be necessary foe a month or two. Sods are a good alternative.

If you go from Chalong Circle on Chaofa East, almost opposite Chalong Police Station, there's a 7/11 on the corner, from which you can see a garden centre just behind what I think is a Japanese market.   There is a garden shop, and I'm pretty sure you'll be able to get seed there.   The guy that has it used to own the land where the new large Tesco is on Chaofa West, which specialised in growing turf, and as such if he doesn't have seed himself, he'll know where to get it.

Thanks pagallim and Living Kata. I did not start this post but appreciate your input.

Last's year dry season has seen weeds now taking over my grass, so I too am in need of new sod or grass seeds.  I'd be interested if anyone finds the seeds here and if there is a machine that would spread the seeds.

I would try a golf course, most have their own nurseries

I just read the first part of that sentence and thought that you meant digging it up from the fairway, of course that is not at all what you meant; is it? Mind you, it is nice quality on most courses.

(Moderators, that is a joke!)

I see at Red mountain they cultivate their own, I drive past every day so maybe worth an ask

I actually have the same problem as steelepuls, and I am looking for grass seeds.

After racking my brain, I thought maybe check online with Lazada.... A quick search there brings up several different grass seeds (manila, bermuda etc)

I am in the process of ordering as I am typing. Trying to order seeds of Bermuda grass.

I'd be interested to see how this works out for you.
