BANGKOK, 15 July 2019 (NNT) - The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has received over 5,000 complaints about corruption in the past two years.

Colonel Sirichan Ngathong, the deputy spokesperson of the NCPO, disclosed that the NCPO’s complaint center, which was officially open in July, 2017, received a total of 5,073 complaints. The complaints were reported via the Hotline 1299, mailed to PO Box no. 444, and submitted to military units nationwide.

She said 912 complaints were lodged against state officials for misconduct and corrupt practices. They were forwarded to the National Anti-Corruption Center for further investigation and 842 cases were resolved.

The other 4,161 complaints were in regard to people’s well-being and hardship. They were forwarded to the Office of the Permanent Secretary for the Prime Minister’s Office to resolve the cases through government channels.

When the term of the NCPO expires in accordance with the Constitution, the operation of the complaint centers will also be terminated. People who are still in trouble can file a complaint with other government agencies, such as the Office of Public Sector Anti-Corruption Commission, the Public Service Center of the Office of the Permanent Secretary for the Prime Minister’s Office, District and Provincial Damrongtham Centers or directly to the responsible agency.

And were any of the issues resolved?

I know four that weren't.

1. The PM's brother's 4 star General Preecha Chan-o-cha's dodgy deals.

2. Former deputy defence minister and Prayut supporter who was responsible for the construction of the extremely controversial Rajabhakti Park.

3. The infamous DPM Prawit's watches case.

4. The Rolls Royce scandal.

That means the files were closed. And absolutely nothing was done. There is no fight against corruption happening in Thailand. No will, no desire, no volition. Nothing. Just jabbering, proclamations, declarations, crackdowns, and rubbish. And anything that does improve, lasts two weeks, then is forgotten.

When is the last time you heard about a high ranking police officer, local, state, or Army official, currently in power, being arrested, prosecuted and jailed? It just does not happen. There is no fight in this current goon squad. They are saving all of their energy on blaming foreigners, tourists, and ex-pats, and making their lives more difficult.

It’s an old authoritarian tactic. Send us your complaints so we can identify our critics, take action against you where necessary, and bury all evidence of illegal activities under a pile of paper.

Here's the kicker ....... when you report, they want your name and contact details!

Imagine all the people that hung up on hearing this. ????

I asked my thai lawyer friend to send a complaint, a while back, to the "National anti-corruption center".

He said, "don't bother, they are too corrupt"

I didn't bother.

They had attitude adjustment training and were totally satisfied with the outcome.

Of course they were, with the usual prompt attention and you can guess in who's favour.
