A child sleeping in the back of a pick-up had a lucky escape when a metal rod came loose from a container truck and entered the passenger compartment.

The rod pierced the windshield and the front seat narrowing avoiding a child lying on the back seat.

The story was featured on Facebook and reported on by Phai Siam news in Nan, northern Thailand.

The media said this should serve as a warning to keep your distance from large trucks.

Thaivisa notes that no one mentioned what might have happened if the child had been seated upright in a seat belt.

Saved by an Amulet no doubt !

I can see a lucky bracelet on the kid's left wrist.

Pretty inconsiderate they didn't show the digits on the car registration for even more good lottery luck.

The kid still asleep too,Thai's can sleep anywhere and through anything.

Was the truck driver informed of his unsafe load and the damage to the pickup, or did he remain blissfully unaware?

Better yet; was the driver found and FINED for his unsafe load?

I wonder. What about the rest of the truck's load?

'container truck' - the container doors were open?

Thai seemingly have trouble with which is left & which is right !

Yet more proof, if proof were needed, that you put your life on the line every time you take to the roads in Thailand.
