Pretty sure he's mocking the doom and gloomers , intentionally or not is hard to say.

Unlike most D&Gs, he doesn't blame Thailand and Thais for all his woe.  He actually seems to accept responsibility or assigns it to some mystical forces.

I got a good psychiatrist 30 years ago who helped me stop drinking

It costs between 300-700 a hour here for a psychiatrist. I see one once a week for 30 minutes. If you go through the public system and prepare to wait, it will be cheaper. You have zero wait times in general going private and if you are needing help, I have found most psychiatrists here see a lot of people with alcohol and drug problems, so they can help a lot. If you are in Chiang Mai, I can advise Dr Kittiwan.

I left Pattaya for now.

i noticed its mostly lower class thais who battle substance abuse and also alcoholism, The middle class with whom i am now associating might have one beer at night but lead too busy life's, they cannot afford to fall victim to the bottle unlike many of the isaan folk in Pattaya who prefer a lay back lifestyle which opens doors for self medication / Abuse/ heavy alcoholism.

I think with that rant you have proved what I suspected about you.

Sounds like much of your depression you have brought on yourself. It happens I know but in order to get a more positive attitude you need to accept what the problem is and then what steps no matter how hard you need to take. Cut the drink it certainly wont help you then you will see the world in a totally different light.

I've always been very happy with the Thai women that passed through my bedroom.

I knew their price and was happy to pay it, really no complaints at all.

The Brit schoolteacher I previously married, an entirely different and more painful experience.

(Not to mention expensive)

What a croc from a time waster. This looks like a troll thread from a very inadequate individual.

Simple put an existentialist  English instructor I once had said "If you're not happy today, you won't be happy tomorrow".

Also thanks to the OP for the post as I believe many on TVF love to read and hear about the misery of others so they forget about their own.

But they still have to see their ugly faces in a mirror day by day......
