Highlight of the Hua Hin Food Fest 2019 next weekend will be the kingdom's longest ever seafood pizza.

The event at the Queens Park 19 Rai will showcase all manner of Thai and international cuisine.

Hua Hin's district chief Thanon Phanpheephat and mayor Noppaporn Wutthikun joined with tourism folk and industry chiefs at the Holiday Inn resort last Friday to promote the upcoming event.

One of the "tasters" for what is to come was a pizza prepared by chefs from Cha-Am and Hua Hin that really hit the spot.

The food festival will take place by the beach on Saturday and Sunday August 31st/Sept 1st.

By the beach. Sounds great doesn't it?

Hua Hin is a funny place. If you did not know it was next to the ocean, you would not know.

Yeah, I see all the Thais up here in Isaan eating their pizzas with ketchup. ????  Yuck!

Unfortunately the only longest thing we have in Chiang Mai is the annual PM2.5 smoking contest with numerous all you can chew days????

There are a couple of Thai pizza places near me, I doubt any Westerner would call what they serve pizza though. They seem to mix the cheese with mayonnaise and it is absolutely vile.

Well, there are franchises of the Thai chain, The Pizza Company, up here and while their pizzas would rank rather low to what I had in the US, they're passable. The same with the local Pizza Hut franchise up here.

Seeing the locals adding ketchup, while not appetizing for me, did not really surprise me too much, seeing as I know how Thais love so many sweet foods.

Ah yes, tomato sauce indeed, but with lots of sugar added. ????

I'm not a violent guy, but that can be easily remedied by someone serving me a "pizza" with mayonnaise on it.

Here in Chiang Mai we are the hub of vile pizza... :coffee1:
