The truth seems to be that after five hours in such a critical condition he would be presumed dead and life support would be turned off, notes Thaivisa.

The truth seems to be?What kind of statement is that?Is the truth some sort of guessing game?People have been in critical condition longer than 5 hours and survived so why would one presume they were dead just because 5 hours have passed and turn off life support?Wouldn't they just check first?Isn't that right Colin?Colin?Bloody hell who turned Colin's life support off again?

it would help if the 'reporter' checked their facts, and the sub ed did their job... come on surely it's not that difficult...?

Yes that would help.

Isn't this what they would call 'fake news' and 'misinformation', just one of the things the people in power here were cracking down on and passing on prison terms no long ago?

No other news I could find said he was still alive only this one very questionable report....

According to this he is dead again....

being dead would be the soft option in comparison to what his life will be like if he survives.

How can you believe any news article here anymore?

His wife is in custody, no shes not, he just shot her.

He shot himself, hes dead, no hes not, the truth is out there somewhere, but who knows what the truth is?

Well,...this gives us a pretty good idea about Thai Journalistic quality's !?!?

Dr Phuwadon Kittiwattanasan said that Bart Allen Helmus was in a critical condition at 3.30 am but was still on a respirator.

His wife was also in a serious condition after he apparently shot her in the forehead.

ER staff confirmed to the media around 4 am that the American was still alive, but barely. His heart was still pumping, they said.

And somebody will soon use a pillow and make him more comfortable.

Great. And here they will use this against us good guys because he can't pay his hospital bill.

Do you know how much money they made when his drugs were confiscated?

..no doubt about you...you really check your source thoroughly don't you!

Ive just downgraded you to 'doubtful'..not that you were ever really believable when it comes to reporting accurately on serious matters.

RIP to those who have died and to those who are about to die.

Perhaps when they state she is in a grievous condition, they mean that she grieving for him.

Is there ever a straight, truthful story in this country?   Mostly, the media are to blame for their blind acceptance at what they are told by anyone 'senior' and not probing or investigating anything on their own.

Just standard Thai journalism. Matches normal Thai way of life, where often people will state something as fact whether it is or not.

I read the first page and last page of this thread and still don't know.

Is he dead or isn't he? or is he like Schrodinger's cat?

Most Thais do the same. It's the way they are taught from day one at school. Accept, never question - especially never question a uniform. No-one ever wins against a uniform anyway.

One way or the other, I'm guessing the YET part of that sentence will end up being the key word.

Gotta love these guys....

--he's dead. No, he's not dead.

--she's captured, no, she's still at large.

--she's wounded but not seriously, no, she's "grievously" wounded...

What's next in the true/false hit parade?

They're both doppelgangers.
