He was picked up at a rented house (with no number) on Koh Phangan.

He must have been snitched on living on that Island...!!!

another one on his way home a blow to the local economy

Sure! I think a comment made by a person that think foreigners contribute so much that the local economy will not survuve without them.

Or, it can also be that you think he contributes so much, so that will make it okey for him to break the law.

Whatever it is, I am pretty sure that you are wrong. :cheesy:

Same in Sydney's CBD. Lots if them! Thai ladyboys walking around, looking for prey. Wonder, whether they have a work permit for escort/massage work...

Perhaps prey is a bit strong - without any punters they would not be there ( of course Australian men are so butch )

Back to the OP - the alien mask is a bit weird - but I suppose it is a positive move - where identities of every one was exposed to all and sundry?

For as long as our respective countries ignore it and do not apply same treatment to Thai nationals , mainly in Germany

I cannot understand why they have to do this to his face it’s a bit over the top I am sure he he wouldn’t of been to bothered if his face was shown in full view  another one on his way home a blow to the local economy

The man is  a law breaker. he is no loss to anyone, bar the person he rents the house from, who probably shopped him in the first place.  Good riddance to him and all like him.  They are the ones who cause this type of problem in the first place. Thailand is better off without them, probably his home country too.

I mean ok, I can see that everyone should do their best to keep compliant with the laws and get their paperwork in order.

I couldn't live myself 'under the radar', not having my life in full control. I think I would get quite stressed and not enjoy even the beauty of Koh Phangan, could never travel back to see and visit my people etc.

But what do I care whether a guy is on overstay or not? That's his problem.

To report him ... well, that would be a real low class act! How does that make you a better & happier person?

its a problem for us all, because it reflects on us all and makes Immigration all the more eager to tighten the laws governing expats. Don't blame Immigration for the many hoops we have to jump through nowadays, blame prats like this one, and the drug dealers, pxxx poor long stayers, illegal workers and anti social drunks and miscreants.

I take your point. But it's worse than 'racist': it is actually suggesting that we foreigners are not even human!!

Nothing 'racist' about it, he overstayed and we would expect any alien overstaying in our countries to also be deported.

alien

adjective

  1. belonging to a foreign country or nation.

    noun

  1. a foreigner, especially one who is not a naturalized citizen of the country where they are living.
    "an illegal alien"

It is soon to be abbreviated. I hear we are to be referred to as "ET"...????

Sure you got a good point.

You got to ask yourself, what was he doing in all that time to support himself?

He obviously does not have much money, otherwise he could have just as easily i.e. get an Elite visa and be all done with it.

If he would have the dosh.

But to report a Farang on overstay, I don't know ... it would never cross my mind, unless I see something really bad/criminal activities etc.

If he's cooking illegally in a kitchen as a chef to support himself, I don't care about his visa status.

I would not myself report anyone for overstay, it's their issue and that of the authorities and I wouldn't lift a finger to help the Thais' police their own country.  Still, I have no sympathy for them either if they get caught.

Easy there Tonto... Last time I looked, 'alien' is not a classification of race.

Everyone who isn't Thai is referred to by the authorities as an alien.

The majority of Thai are racist.  Move on Thai, most of the civil world have / are..

I cannot tolerate racism because I was a victim of racism from Thais whilst in Thailand for 12 years, each and every day!

The overstay is illigal, but there is no need to mok the foreigner, which is very much a Thai thing and sums up the Thai, childish, mentally mind-set.  They have no respect or honour.

Not all Thai are bad, there are those few that have a mature and forward thinking attirude, but sadly the majority do not. They bite and view the hand that feeds them with contempt.

Other governments should treat Thai the way inwhich Thai treat foreigners in respect of ownership, employment, visa, double stabdard pricing and so on..

Why do people continue to visit such a negative race of people, apart from those who have dependants there, whom I feel very sorry for.

There are much better places on this planet which allow a foreigner to be part of a fair community, not treated as an ALIEN, ATM or BANK by means of fraud and extortion on a never ending daily basis.

Thailand paradise!! What a  joke...

What peeeeeeeerfect country do you reside in...?????

Note the disgustingly racist act of putting an 'alien' mask on the foreigner.

How low can the media Authorities stoop in their insults?!

And all this encouragement - incitement - to snitch on people. It's right out of Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four.

Abhorrent.

Old method of social engineering..dehumanize first.
Dr. Geobbels likes it.

ps. on such threads, half of the commenters look like paid trolls

Things can spin out of control pretty fast from here and the vortex can catch yourself too in the process.

Sure, Everything is going to be bad and dangerous. Huga! :cheesy:

The discussion is about reporting people breaking the law, not any other people are concerned. Something that all people should do like good citizens. The law is the law, and nobody have the right to decide what is more or less important regarding that book.

The trouble with you is that you start your post with a nonsense. Who is going to read your points after that and believe they are reading something sensible or valid. Try a little more reason and less ranting.

Perhaps you need to get off your hobby-horse to take a long hard look in the mirror - do you see someone so bitter that they inspire animosity?
