A Thai couple are all smiles again after they won 6 million baht in the lottery.

Following the windfall the husband Wijak, 34, left with the ticket.

The relatives of Pornthida Chamnanwet, 23, went to Phrapradaeng police to file a report to take action against her two timing husband.

They said the couple had agreed to share the spoils 50-50.

But he suggested she was only getting 2 million.

A well known lawyer stepped into the fray. Kittiwitayanan said that the husband could face three years in jail for his actions under Article 352.

Now the couple are back together again. Wijak said he got cross. He said that he had not collected the money yet.

The couple are set to go together to the state lottery office to get their money.

Did she pay 40 baht of the ticket cost before the draw was made?

This clearly falls under the two categories "sin somros" and "sin suan tua" which a the ground pillars for ownership between married people. To make a comment like yours, mean that you have no clue. He was married when he bought the ticket, which means that it´s both his and his wifes property. With a win, this means they are obligated by law to slit the winnings 50/50. That´s the law in Thailand, and has nothing to do with who bought the ticket.

Probably not, but the law is the law. Wonder if you would have been stating the same if she won and tried to steal the winnings? I think not. Then you probably posted that she was a bad person and like all women she take all money from their men.

The young girl is his mia noi,his real wife wants all of it now.

More to come i am sure.

On the subject of marriage and lottery winnings, consider the following.................

The man says to his wife, "Darling if I won the lottery what would you do?".
The wife says, "I would take half and leave you".

The man answers, "Well I won 500 baht on the lottery yesterday, so here's your 250 baht. Stay in touch from time to time".

Me love you long time..

Loosen up dude, in case you missed the smileys, but anyway, to answer your question, i would have then commented: 6 million reasons to hate him ????????????????

Well, what if a foreigner win the Thai lottery?double taxation from Thai government and whatever the government the person belong to?

I won 20,000 baht years ago and when I went to the lottery office you would have thought i'd robbed the crown jewels they did not like having to pay me

Isn't love grand

She won’t see him much after collecting-until he’s spent it all ????

Good one !!

I was at the wedding of a friend the other day...

"In sickness or in health, rich or poor, but if I win the lottery I'll drop you like a bad habit, never get older, OK, are we done I'm already having second thoughts...."

If I won the lottery I would share it with everybody on ThaiVisa, not the money, only the news.

no money no honey!!

Under Thai law, any assets required after a marriage belong equally to both parties. Maybe a smart lawyer tipped her off.

There's a 0.5% tax that all winners of the Government Lottery in Thailand have to pay, Thais or foreigners.     Anything due in your own country is your own problem.
