Rimmer
Loose road plate sparks accident fears PATTAYA:--Pattaya motorists say a damaged steel plate has created a traffic hazard on Central Road. Motorists complained Nov. 18 that the plate, laid by the Provincial Electricity Authority to cover a hole where power lines are being buried, is loose and not flush with the road. Both conditions are perilous, particularly to motorcyclists, they said. Drivers urged the PEA or Pattaya to quickly remedy the problem. jacko45k
I believe I rode over it a few days ago and it gave out quite a 'clang' as it moved. Very worrying, I might have dropped into a deep hole!

Drains capital wide pooling together to get the recognition of 'death trap' they truly deserve...
Rimmer
I drove past this row of new manhole covers the other day, I don't think it is anyting to do with the cast iron cover but more to do with the square pre cast cast concrete slab that they put over the exisitng hole. The slab stands 2 two inches proud above the road surface and is an absolute death trap for a motorbike, wouldn't do a car much good either.

Nearly every road in Pattaya provides the bike rider with a drum beat of thump thump thump from proud covers of one type or another, exactly where you don't want them to be in the road. When a road is resurfaced it becomes a dip!
