Go on rub it in to us poor Sassenachs.

Actually, as a native American, I have greatest respect for the Scots. The way you stuffed Edward I was a classic! I went to sterling and lit a candle for those brave lads ........

Thankyou.

Yes. Forgot. Same some think I from Rayong, but is Ranong.

I make many mistake. Charlie and Villagefarang is not English, and Geronimo is a Brit!

Hello Pee Satien!

Ok, I will put his song on the music thread now.

Oh, you the police!

Only Songkran or all the time?

Good luck POTY sir!

I was volunteering for Ubon TP when they had some "special cases" in Sisaket. Satien is an old friend, he started his career in his old club called Tamm Mue that doesn't exist anymore called Tamm Mue.

I even knew him before he became a "Superstar." He came all the way from Bangkok to a little village near Sisaket to play some of his songs.

I have a video where we celebrated his birthday at Tam Mue in Sisaket, the last time I've met him was at bike week Sisaket. It was his son's birthday and even his son sang a song. A nice guy "Nong Satien!!"

No dude. Reach deep inside, this is important to the world.

Did Ahkmatova walk away from the Lubyanka and say, nah tovarish, Im not in the mood to tell your story?

Did Sassoon, Blundin or Brooke look at broken, bloody bodies on the wire and later write that they had nothing to say?

Did Bukowski throw his notebook and pen at the bartender and just drink himself silly?

Nay! They persevered! They told the story! You too have those experiences just bubbling out of you like the remnants of an intestinal infection! Do not deprive us! Lead us into the light of your literacy! Be the Lermontov of this Forum! Sing, as Horace sang to the ages! Give us that Ode to a Ladyboy, brighten our lives with the Ballad of a Drunken Blighter, sing out your angst with Sitting on the Steps with a Chang!

Its not over till its over! The fat lady hasnt sang, sung, singed! Put aside thy silly lace neckerchief and pick up thine quill, Shelly, we are waiting.

Thank you.

Greatly inspired, I shall dip my quill as often as possible and continue to pen my thoughts in poetic verse, although I do get the feeling that your unwavering encouragement is not shared by the TVF community ........ Hark! I hear a poem coming!

Birthdays

Birthdays are yearly, a reminder of age

as we move through this life, turning the page

A method of marking, how long we've been here

in this universe, on this tiny sphere

Birthdays they come and also they go

What lies ahead, no one will know

The future is waiting, the past is the past

but the moment is here, let's make it last

The older we get, the more that we learn

Knowledge is free, respect you must earn

Experience the things that help us to grow

Live the life, the one that you know

And when it gets hard, it inevitably will

Suck it all up, enjoy the thrill

of making your way through this thing we call living

Kindness, compassion are what we are giving

Perception is all, your point of view

See it as bad, and it will be true

See it as a wonder, a thing to cherish

Things will be good, bad thoughts you will perish

For each second is precious, as it passes you by

never to return, so ask yourself why

you filled that brief moment, with unpleasant things

instead of the joy that happiness brings

Spend all of your moments in a happy state

A wonderful life is yours to create

Forget about worry, shame or fear

It's all about joy, let's be quite clear

My message is simple, seek out the good

Then your life will be as it should

Birthdays are markers, a measure of time

Oh look, here's mine, I'm fifty nine!!

yet another, where are they coming from?

Food

Beef is the king

for carniverous beasts

hunting parties

and three day feasts

Lamb is so greasy

with mint its sublime

young is the tender

too tough in his prime

Chicken is meat

or it appears to be

who knows what you'll find

in KFC

Pasta is healthy

have I got that right?

Pile on the carbs

to add to your plight

Beans are so cool

in tomato sauce

rope in the steers

jump on your horse

Spaghetti is long

and basically thin

maybe that's why

it runs down your chin

Sausages are filled

with parts of a hog

or maybe it could be

the inners of frog

Pies are so tasty

with crusts that do crumble

just thinking about it

makes my tummy rumble

Cake is for parties

at least so I'm told

with candles to show

how many years old

Pork is quite crispy

yet easy to spoil

those that don't eat it

have all of the oil

Bread is the source

of roughage for most

baked, sliced and packed

or turned into toast

Cheese is a favourite

for European taste

curdling milk

turned into a paste

Vegetables vary

in colour and size

plant some seedlings

watch them rise

Butter is heaven

a dairy type spread

great for cooking

or covering bread

All these things

the tastes and the twangs

let's not forget ice cream

and lemon marangs
