British passport renewal - Phuket agent ?

Featured Replies

I know about the service Key Visa offer, are there any agents in Phuket that do a similar service for renewal of British passport if I want to avoid doing the trips to Bangkok?

Thanks

I don't know anything about it, but thought I'd post anyway.

Couple years ago I could not find a Phuket based company to help me get a new UK passport. So I made 2 trips up to BKK passport agent. pain in the a**

You can send it EMS to Key Visa. It worked well for me and I live in Udon.

A month ago I did the same. Should've used the agent as it was a pain and more expensive going myself.

I love the new passport though - no "European Community" on the front.

I used Key also. They are expensive but hotel costs, travelling there and back, etc etc, it just makes more sense to use the guy.

Thanks for replies.

I did send a email off to key, no reply yet, but looks like its probably the best way to go and good to hear some positive comments. Don't think I need to do it until early next year, maybe it will be a blue passport by then.

Set mine to my daughter in UK,she posted off to Passport office,

it was returned to her,she sent it  EMS back to me,took a little over couple

of weeks total,no way was I going to do two trips Chiang Mai-BKK,

or use an agent.

So you have no passport here in Thailand for couple of weeks. I would think that would make you an illegal. For sure chances are no problem but let's say you had some issue with police or immigration .... Maybe your Thai DL would be good enough.

I have been living here for 30 odd years, and I have only been asked

for passport once*,by a soldier when there was a coup taking place

and he was reading it upside down,so maybe that does not count

and I was willing  to take the minute chance to save 2 trips to BKK.  * thats out and about, local.

I also had copies of passport and pink card, so no worries.

Anyone used thaivisa-express as an alternative to key? or any other recommendations?

Thanks

vfs told me that anyone can submit the application, does not have to be a special agent, didn't know that.

If no special approval is required I'm surprised there are not more offering this service from Phuket or even a company nearer the trendy office, would make sense to send it there instead of via pattaya.

Still looking for recommendations other than key, thaivisa-express possibly? Thanks
