Your best bet for Colmans in Chiang Mai is Rimping Nim City branch or Central Food Hall at Central Festival.  Central does stock some Waitrose  products like frozen foods, rice and sauces.

Such specialist items as jars of horseradish are a bit like hens teeth, few and far between.  I have been waiting for 18 months for CFH to restock Masterfood Celery Salt. So if you see what you want grab it.

Try Tesco .They do a pretty reasonable horsraddish. When and if they have it

I added Wasabi to Kewpie Sweet Mayonnaise.   Both readily available, and usually a lot cheaper than any import sauce.

On an aside, what's sold in stores as wasabi is just horseradish, since genuine wasabi is very expensive, and the flavor only lasts a few minutes after it's been ground from the root.  Don't believe me?  Google it...

I even recall seeing the 'Waitrose' brand, long time back. SO where can I buy it at? As in Chiang Mai.

Have you tried Sausage King in Chiang Mai? They now have a number of UK products in addition to their home-cooked meats, pies, etc. They have a website. It’s worth a try. Good luck... ????????

It's possible you may find some in the German food section, I have a feeling I have seen some in small plastic vacuum bags in the supermarket in Jomtien in the salad section.or even the Russian food section.

If you have a Villa Mart in CM check on line ...

Kasem’s Store???

I haven't seen it there, but I wasn’t looking.

They would be a good bet, plus you never know what other treasures you’ll find while you’re there.

Plus, the Kasem’s family is so loving, kind and helpful... worth the trip just to say hi (and score some fresh scones!)

I bought some from Rimping at their Meechok store I think the brand was Remstenberg but that was some time ago.

I have found them pretty good in ordering products particularly if you have the old container with the barcode.

If you go to one store they will be able to tell you if they have the product available elsewhere and have it transferred. It will save you tre king around the city.

Check the ingredients on the Wasabi that is available. You may find it's almost as much Horseradish as Horseradish is !

For example, here is the ingredients on some "My Choice" Wasabi:

I also found some German Horseradish (in Tops, near the mayonnaise):

The Wasabi is 40% Horseradish and the German Horseradish is 65%

I was just at Tops (Central Festival Mall) yesterday and I purchased a jar of, "Colman's Horseradish Sauce" as I needed for something I was cooking. They still had 3 more jars. It was located in the spice section, on the very bottom shelf. It was hard to see. As the week before, when I seen it, it was located on the bottom shelf where the BarBQ sauces are. I don't know why they keep moving things around?

I was out there yesterday before you sent this. Thought I looked everywhere. They had "coleman tartar sauce' but nothing else nearby. Once I hit the Waitrose in the big jars, stopped looking.

I did take a pic of the German brand a poster put up, have it around for next time.

Thanks again.

Blast you city-dwellers - you can get almost anything with a bit of digging about. Out here in the sticks I have to make my own mustard, bake my own bread and put bloody pork into my shepherd's pies.
