Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha,right.

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha said that there was no need for people to panic and store food supplies amid the ongoing Covid-19 crisis.

He said the government was launching new measures to handle the situation if the virus situation entered the third phase.

The Ministry of Commerce has been ordered to increase face mask production and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is preparing to receive Thais in other countries to facilitate their return to Thailand.

The government also was considering closing entertainment venues and sport stadiums.

He added that the government was not slow in dealing with the situation but the ministers had to think about the consequences before taking action.

Even if your unfounded statement would be true, you should never panic but keep thinking. This may be hard for some people.

  • We should all be thankful to have a deep thinker like yourself Frits, keep up the good work!????

Last time they said there was plenty of masks it was a lie. Ok guys it's officially time to panic buying!

Panic is what sets in when your turning to the right on a slippery mountain road bend and you motorcycle starts skidding towards the 500ft drop over the edge on your left...only to have the tyres find some grip on the gravel verge.   Just took a second or two and it was over.  When usiNG the word "panic" I  think we need to add context.

Read the document properly:

Of the 5,638 PUI cases, laboratory results revealed that 3,897 cases returned negative for the COVID-19 virus, and results are pending for remaining 1,741 PUI

"And this is only the recorded ones.. you can x 10 to x 20 that at least that arnt yet recorded... "

That is just spreading fake news, read the document properly again:

that among 34,399 flights, there were a total of 3,787,108 passengers screened. Among those, 247 people met the case definition criteria of patients under investigation (PUI). For the screening protocol outside the airports, 118,654 people from 786 ships were screened at sea ports between 1 January and 13 March 2020 and two people met the PUI criteria. There were 1,360,331 people screened at ground ports between 1 February to 13 March 2020. Between 30 January to 13 March 2020, a total of 104,784 people who were renewing their passports were screened at the Government Complex

I have,  meanwhile the official WHO figure is 114...... they havnt "screened" that number... only taken sporadic temp readings whereas as everyone now knows it takes 2 weeks to even incubate Covid19... in other words the claim of screening millions is all but useless.

if  they told the general  public to stop wearing them it  would  help way  more, they are not necessary except under a  few  circumstances

Having had that sort of thing happen several times over the years that is terror not panic. You don't have enough time to panic...

Don't see any panic in Chiang Rai. Apparently many rural Thais don't have the money to stock up anyway. Business is down in the more expensive restaurants, a couple of the stalls in the Food Court at Big C have closed. Daily dalat nats are still going strong.

Now it is really important, that kick out the ministry of health, because all these rasistic and nazi statements have damaged the country more than the virus by itself.

He looks tired

Aged.

He has the most s.... job possible right now.

At night, he's dreaming of the good old times, when he was "general", surrounded by his fellow soldiers.

Life was simple.

His only concerns were :

-which uniform should i put today ?

-what will be the menu at the cantine today ?

Anyway.

When a pseudo prime minister says "do not panic". It's of course time to panic.

Political PR anti-BS 101.

The thai governement is inane. And totally incapable to manage such a crisis.

I wrote it several weeks earlier : the virus could be their... downfall.

The health consequences are ridiculous... What matters are the economic and the political consequences...

It's probably too late to stop or mitigate the situation now. The time for that was 6 - 8 weeks ago.

Whatever is going to happen will happen, and the "authorities" have no option other than plan for the aftermath.

Meh. Just a rinse and repeat: "charter", "election" and "government".

Same pig, new lipstick.

Pay it(payut) has to think about ramifications of decisions?  WHAT ABOUT RAMIFICATIONS OF NOT TAKING DECISIVE MEASURES Quickly?

What about ramifications of Ministers lack of working together(obvious), posting stupid comments blaming others for the spread? BIG JOK PAY IT!!!

The ramifications which he has to consider are the effects upon those who own and benefit from the businesses which would have to close. Whole swathes of businesses would have to cease operations, and amongst their owners, and those who draw income from them, are many who are amongst those who put him in power - who own him politically.

It's panic until you're floating free...... that's when the terror can kick in. Different strokes 'n' all that guff.

Ah, but the French have the bidet (which they invented) which is just as good. You can also wash your hands and feet in them.

I honestly cannot figure out what all the panic is regarding toilet paper.

What action?

smart thai people, call corona something else and there is no problem

or thai style : test  very few people so you can have great numbers

people with any brain cells left would not travel if they don't have to
