Sliding rear window for Pickups

Featured Replies

Good day

Wondering if there are any on the forum that have replaced their OEM original rear window on their pickup with an after market sliding window here in Thailand?

I am getting a canopy for the beast and want to get a rear slider at the same time - seems to me the thing to do.

I have found a shop that looks like they do great work. They have an after market slider from a company called VMC Safety Glass Thailand. They have replacement rear sliders for most models, and have a well established business making a lot of glass products. Tempered glass, strong frame etc from the look of it.

Wondering if any here have experience swapping out their rear glass, with this product or any other.

Cheers

If you say it is a well established business with stuff that ticks all your boxes, just go and get one fitted....????

I would be interested in the details from the OP. I can get an after market rear sliding window for my Ranger in Europe or an OEM one from the US but they're both pricey and would blow my excess baggage allowance.

They are a very low key B2B outfit, website does not work, no real presence online or much in the way of feedback.

Shop I visited had a slider in stock to check out. Solid frame, good looking rubber seal around slider, glass is tempered - looks like a solid piece of after market kit. They supply most of the sliders on canopies from Carry Boy, Sammitr, etc so you can see the quality if you have a canopy to check out.

We plan to overland and sleep in the back so outfitting it to get in and out of the back from the cab is key. LOL I cant get thru the window, but the G can so in a situation, she can get from back to front if needed. Handy if raining as well.

This is about best info I can find online about them:

Price is nice too, wrapped up in cost of canopy, not sure if more to do stand alone, but under $100 installed.

Mine was done when they installed the canopy. Did you ask?

So its been a while since I logged  in. I have bought and installed a canopy now. The sliding window was a game time decision and I decided to wait and try the set upwith the existing weindow first and see how it works. Thinking was if I went straight to slider I would never get to test this set up, and I am xoncerned about losing the window defog capability...not sure if or how often i will need it with the cap on (cap rear window has defog as well) but now can take time to try it out. With a slider sure you can opwn it if foggy but around here we get the fog in the heaviest rain so not really an option.

So will try this set up for a while then flip to a slider if still interested.

Cheers
