Nothing was happening downstairs at the Daywada on Mae Nam Khwae Road but upstairs it was a different matter. A German couple were having massages in contravention of the virus regulations. Manageress Kaewmanee, 47, admitted that she didn't even have a license to operate a "health" establishment. Picture: Naew Na Rudeemas, 42, and Ratana, 38, said they were employed as masseuses. All three were taken into the police station while the Germans had to go without their massages. Naew Na reported the story beginning with naming eleven immigration officers from chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang down to officers of the rank of senior sergeant major as having been involved in some way in the bust. The media also mentioned the involvement of the Muang district police, tourist police and protection agencies in enforcing the law. Picture: Naew Na Kaewmanee faces charges of contravening the Covid-19 regulations and operating a health establishment without a licence. It was not reported if her employees would face any sanctions.
