Thanyaburi police chief Pol Col Wiwat Atsawawiboon swung into action after he got a call that a car had ended up in Klong 5 behind the Wat Moon Jindaram temple around 5.30 yesterday evening.

 

Not just any car - a 24 million baht Lamborghini with the plate ชม 7 (chor-mor), Bangkok.

 

They found the engine still running and the locals had helped the driver get to hospital. 

 

Fortunately the klong was not very deep thanks to the drought. 

 

There was quite a crowd of gawkers.

Benya, 45, said she saw the car every day. She heard a bang from the exhaust and saw the occupant of the car swimming to safety. He had chest pains.

 

Driver Jakrawan Sukhumkanchana, 30, confirmed the chest pains later and said his insurance had sorted things out and the car was in for repairs.

Well it's insured,but they will basically have to strip car back to the frame to repair,hate to see his excess next year,still no doubt he can afford it.

After sucking in water through the air intake I wouldn't hold out much hope the engine will run much longer!
