I have used it on cattle for the past 17 years, a pour on so I have splashed plenty on myself over that time.

WHO knows. Sorry for the pun but nah, someone knows!

I give my rabbits (liquid) - move the fur between the shoulders and one drop on the skin once a month, so hopefully they are good to go.

None of the vaccines currently being administered around the world can be called 'experimental' - they have all been fully tested and have been through all the regulatory scrutiny that any vaccine must undergo before it can be given to the general public.

looks, like only 2 vaccines are approved: Pfizer (usa, canada, europe) and Sinopharm (china).

Another 8 are early or limited use.

Some 20 in phase 3

Approved where???

Pfizer/Biontech, Moderna, Oxford/AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Sinovac, Sputnik V have all been approved in different countries.

The outlier seems to be Sinovac, that was to be expected if you know the history of this company of repeatedly getting approval of their vaccines by bribing officials. I don't even believe their alleged efficacy of 50%.

Probably one of the better, more objective analyses of the evidence for Ivermectin's efficacy by pulmonary disease specialist, Dr Mike Hansen.

I think it's hard to argue with his conclusion that while ivermectin certainly looks promising so far, there isn't quite enough high-quality data available yet and more double-blind, placebo-controlled studies are required before we can reach a definitive finding.

It seems Monash University have just posted their results of in vitro Ivermectin testing on Covid-19. Effectively eliminated all virus (99.98%) from the samples in 48 hours with a single dose. The drug is readily available but likely unsafe for pregnant and lactating women. They seem to theorise that the drug stops the virus's ability to penetrate the patient's cells.

"Taken together these results demonstrate that ivermectin has antiviral action against the SARS-CoV-2 clinical isolate in vitro, with a single dose able to control viral replication within 24-48 h in our system. We hypothesise that this is likely through inhibiting IMPα/β1-mediated nuclear import of viral proteins."

A long way to go, but promising and would be available well before a vaccine.

Apparently, neither did you?

I chose the most recent "study" in your link...  López-Medina et al., JAMA, doi:10.1001/jama.2021.3071 (Peer Reviewed)

Effect of Ivermectin on Time to Resolution of Symptoms Among Adults With Mild COVID-19
A Randomized Clinical Trial

Conclusion and Relevance  Among adults with mild COVID-19, a 5-day course of ivermectin, compared with placebo, did not significantly improve the time to resolution of symptoms. The findings do not support the use of ivermectin for treatment of mild COVID-19, although larger trials may be needed to understand the effects of ivermectin on other clinically relevant outcomes.

Stupid is as stupid does... If you are a horse, or have worms, carry on.

FDA warns against using anti-parasitic drug for Covid-19 after reports of hospitalizations

The US Food and Drug Administration on Friday said that people should not use ivermectin to attempt to treat or prevent Covid-19. The drug is typically used to treat parasites, such as lice and scabies.

"There seems to be a growing interest in a drug called ivermectin to treat humans with COVID-19. Ivermectin is often used in the U.S. to treat or prevent parasites in animals. The FDA has received multiple reports of patients who have required medical support and been hospitalized after self-medicating with ivermectin intended for horses," the agency's announcement said on Friday.

The announcement noted that the FDA has not approved ivermectin to treat or prevent Covid-19 in humans and the drug is not an anti-viral medication.

Why You Should Not Use Ivermectin to Treat or Prevent COVID-19

Here’s What You Need to Know about Ivermectin
FDA has not approved ivermectin for use in treating or preventing COVID-19 in humans. Ivermectin tablets are approved at very specific doses for some parasitic worms, and there are topical (on the skin) formulations for head lice and skin conditions like rosacea. Ivermectin is not an anti-viral (a drug for treating viruses).
Taking large doses of this drug is dangerous and can cause serious harm.
If you have a prescription for ivermectin for an FDA-approved use, get it from a legitimate source and take it exactly as prescribed.
Never use medications intended for animals on yourself. Ivermectin preparations for animals are very different from those approved for humans.

Just to be clear, these were in-vitro tests.

Sure.

Perhaps you should listen to what real doctors, on the field, are doing...

For instance, doctor Jackie Stone, in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Oustanding interview :

https://vimeo.com/541266249

Very articulate, she explains what was happening end of july 2020... and how she (and her collegues) reacted with ivermectine. She speaks about the dosages, even large ones for patients in bad shape.

She repeats that like HIV and malaria, it's important to hit quick and hard.

It's the antithesis of the "western model" : "stay home, take paracetamol, wait... when you'll be dying we will pick you up and put you in ICU on respirator"...

The positive results are so striking that the governement has authorized this molecule end of january.

I have this medicine, made by atlantic laboratoris bangkok. Expiry 07.2022. Lot number 200132.
As it’s an expensive medicine it’s made in small batches once a year, so it won’t expire. Comes in boxes by 12 pills, 2 blisters by 6.

Hello. Could you tell us where did you buy the product from "atlantis lab" ?

Thanks.

Since december, did anyone manage to procure ivermectin in a private hospital in Bangkok ?

stock from the last year is gone. Maybe remaining still in some large pharmacies in phuket, krabi which were relying on tourists, maybe already expiring 04.2021. Somebody told me seen them.

The new one will have 2023 expiry date, should be available shortly. I have ordered some.

Ivermectin is not approved in thailand for covid. Private hospital pharmacies might have them, but you can't buy there just by walking in - first you need to convince doctor to give you prescription, 700b per visit, and medicine itself at inflated price

Treatment of covid might mean tens of pills. Prophylactic means several pills per weak, for months. I used to take daily, for many months. Will do it again same, because of the second wave coming to Bangkok. Costs do add up, if there are several people in the family, who are in a risk group.

Current recommendations is to take 1 dose on day 1 and another on day 3. Then only 1 dose every 14 days. or 2 doses per month.
I am currently taking an 18 mg dose every two weeks (90 kg)
200 mcg per kg x 90 kg = 18 mg (about 250 baht for 3 x 6mg tablets)

The single study you chose (posted March 4) is clearly marked as  fatally flawed.  Why would you base your opinion on a fatally flawed study?

After investigation .

-Atlantic lab = "vermectin 6 mg" (12 tablets per box)

-Bumrungrad has the same brand, "vermectin". Sold at 215 THB per tablet (not included the doctor fees etc.)

-classic pharmacies in BKK might have the same brand (not sure if prescription is needed).

Thank you for your permission. As it turns out, I now have a supply of Ivermectin for myself or those I care about should it become necessary.

Im Switzerland here, I liked HCQ, then all the TRUMP haters went wild and it got banned = now it's allegedly been proven to be affective and valid to an acceptable level in the USA.

So I am curious about Ivermectin, I also googled/Lazada'd it, = animal stuff only. Please do tell where can it be purchased, legally?

Regards!

Molly, "Time to Grow" was censored by the thought police. I have it on good authority that he was able to locate human grade Ivermectin online from an Indian retailer. It is his understanding that Ivermectin is manufactured periodically in Thailand but current stocks of the drug have been depleted. He remains alert for news that the Thai manufacturer has resumed production.

Any update on this - I've been having a look around and not finding anything that wasn't designed for animals... ????

Indonesia has just authorised the use of Ivermectin as they are in dire straits with the virus and with less than 1% of the population vaccinated. In real world tests it has shown to be almost as affective if not equivilent to any vaccine.

When will the Thai goverment do the same and start saving lives?

practically thai made iver is not possible to find. Only one small company, atlantic laboratories, makes it from time to time in small barches.

The government did not buy any stock, because it's expensive, some 120b per pill. The GPO is set to make japanese antiviral.

Apparently there are only 6 large companies in the world doing API for this medicine.

India doesn't export it anymore, that since beginning of pandemic. I was able to source from pakistan, half price of thai one

So you are suggesting what exactly?

Use ivermectin as a prophylaxis? (You mention it is as effective as a vaccine.)

Use ivermectin as a treatment?
