Exchanging Euro for baht in Korat - having problems

Featured Replies

A friend of mine has 1000 euro she is trying to exchange in Korat but the banks wont accept it - due to the coronavirus apparently.

Does anyone know where she can exchange it in Korat.

Thanks

I had the same problem in Pattaya. The bank said to use a non bank affiliated money changer.

its going to be very difficult exchanging it outside of places like bkk and pattaya, banks wont exchange at the moment.

Go to any Kasikorn bank. They will change it.

Kasikorn Bank stopped their exchange services weeks ago. I think they were the first bank to do it.

Just a thought. Do gold shops exchange foreign currency?

Doesn't your friend know anyone like an expat with a bank account?

That friend can give your friend the equivalent to €1000 and change the money later. It's not exactly a fortune.

Oh wonderful - I left the wife quite a lot of GBP - told her to change it when the exchange rate went above 40. Now its above 40 but she can't change it.

I wonder if Superrich is open.

Apparently not Joe. My wife tells me the only stores open in all the shopping malls are supermarkets. There's another exchange in The Mall - I think is called Twelve Victory, also closed.

Is it not possible to deposit foreign currency into a normal Thai account ?
