The driver of the car reportedly stopped at an intersection, which is a border between Nonghan and Sawang Dindaen districts and allegedly fired at the officers who had surrounded him. The police returned fire and killed the driver in the front seat. He was later identified as Jaded Somsong, 28, a Sakon Nakhon local. Officers reportedly found a handgun, 28 bullets, a petrol bomb and a knife in the car.

According to investigation officers, the deceased was a former employee of a car dealership in Sakon Nakhon.

The company reportedly had told the police earlier that day he had carried a gun into the company’s premises and threatened other staff. Jaded reportedly fled the scene in his car. The company reported no injuries or damage.

Investigation underway after jilted lover is shot in his car by police after chase

Thai police in the north east of the country shot and killed a driver after he fired on them following a chase yesterday.

Jadet Somsong, 28, was found riddled with bullets in the driver's seat of an Opel Corsa.

Earlier Sawang Daen Din police in Sakon Nakhon had been called after Jadet went into a Nissan showroom and started threatening his ex partner with a gun.

When police arrived the suspect was at the Toyota showroom nearby.

He failed to give up to officers and shot at them and a 30 kilometer chase began.

This ended up just across the provincial border in Udon Thani when the suspect parked by the side of the road near a sugar factory.

He again shot at officers who fired back.

A knife was found in the car along with a .380 gun and ammunition.

Police weapons used in what has been called a "judicial killing" have been gathered as an investigation begins.

So he was driving an old Corsa, went to the Nissan showroom, then the Toyota showroom. I think its all a big misunderstanding. The poor scrote just wanted some new wheels.
