Psssst.  I have a secret mom and pop shop that lets me put large bottles of b^^r inside my bags and carry them back home.  We still drink out by the pool and converse .  Much better than being locked up in a jail is all I can say (or rehab) ????

Obviously the Official Office of Drink Haters has control over the Government. Expensive Restaurants don't really make much money on food and if they can't sell wine and pre dinner and post dinner drinks they can't afford to open particularly if they have to reduce the number of customers.  A few stupid people having drink parties and not social distancing have contributed to this ban.

We should be looking at it from a larger scale. The people should be able to choice and have the freedom what they want. Banning alcohol for no reason seems the first step in banning things that the government considers bad for you. We do not need a government to make these choices for us.

 

If we had 1000+ new cases per day, and full hospitals I can understand the measures. However, this is totally unacceptable and out of proportions. Hence you barely see it in any other country.

It has nothing to do with 'feeling normal'. It has a lot to do with enjoying a glass of wine or a beer with a meal in the evening and a lot to do with individual choice.

Notice no-one is trying to tell you that you must drink alcohol. Why not tell everyone to go to church as well on Sunday instead of say,  playing golf?

Even though I am not a drinker for medical reasons, I would be pretty <deleted> off if they took the right of my morning coffee away. It is a freedom expressed. On Twitter, there are circulating many reasons why such bans are in place and I would most likely get barred from TV if I started to write them. Also from from another well know website saying all emergency decrees to remain in place for another month. Lets see what happens.

Do you really think that this bunch have considered inducing anxiety and increasing stress!

 

This is being done:

1) As an exercise in demonstrating and weilding power by the provincial authorities, because most  other decisions and restrictions are being taken and imposed at national level.

2) It is being tolerated by the national government as they don't wish to upset the provincial authorities (governors) by causing them to lose face - they (the government) realise that they may need them onside.

3) Quite possibly as a poke at some very wealthy undertakings who haven't been as cooperative as was hoped (venal and possibly risky).

 

The wishes, well-being and needs of the Thai population have not been considered (in any respect, in any of the whole farago of bans, closures and restrictions), so frankly our moans are utterly irrelevant.

 

Look at who is running the country.

 

Look at their background.

 

Look at how they came into, and arranged to keep, power.

Since when did this become an <deleted> Muslim country. I feel sorry for the local Thais, but I really hope this kills their tourism business for good. Maybe Prayut and company are upset the Beer Barons didn't pony up for his begging last week. They can't be very happy with him these days. Along with the big mall owners, who got shut out of the re-opening. 

Hard times ahead and I'm afraid to see what happens when people without jobs and no way to pay for food and rent react.

We should really ask ourselves, what risks we are taking in leaving people under lockdown in their homes with a substance that is harmful both in terms of their health and the effects of their behaviour on others, including violence?

I guess a lot of people are saving a lot of money now. For the poor this is great news no fights about how to spend the limited funds on food or on alcohol. Bad news for those who can afford it but can't buy it.

 

If only the people had not spoiled it by holding big parties with alcohol at homes and breaking all the rules. Too bad for the good ones that everyone is suffering now. 

It's not great news for the poor who work in the factories that manufacture alcohol products, or the companies that supply the raw materials to those factories, or are employed as delivery drivers to deliver the product, or who own Mom and Pop shops.

 

But you don't drink so obviously it's all hilarious to you.
