Trump confident coronavirus may have originated in Chinese lab

I agree it's a scenario being evaluated.  Unfortunately many trump supporters still rabbit on or infer Covid-19 is man made / deliberately released into the environment.

Nah I think it'll turn out to be an accident from the Lab to the wet market or wherever and I believe China does not want an investigation because they know this. If it were simply a bat issue at Wuhan let the investigators confirm it.

I think it's very possible that it came from a lab. I do think POTUS has access to more info than any poster on here.

Are you sure he can read? Or hes info is hearsay?

Do you solemnly swear that you will tell the truth, the hole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you GOD.?

They also didn't agree it could transmit from human to human or that masks were useful. Early days.

Again nonsense. Nobody said it can not be transmitted from human to human. It was said there is no clear evidence it can be transmitted from human to human, which is far from the same. WHO even said human to human transmission may very well be possible.

Not sure but pretty sure some posters on here can't but... he does know what day of the week it is if that helps?

I said they didn't "agree" which was the point you were making. WHO have been appalling in this and still TO THIS DAY do not recommend mask wearing.

As far as we know, they don't have any evidence, yet, which is why they are investigating it. If they had the evidence, I'm sure they would have announced it.
Or not.

Politics being what they are. If they did uncover actual proof, they could use it as leverage in their trade negotiations with China. I wouldn't doubt that that the (US) President would put the mighty dollar first and telling the people the truth second.
Especially as he has already claimed that China is trying to prevent him from being re-elected. I suspect a lot of back room politicing will be going on.

and this means trump is truly worried about the election, as he's now following the hillary playbook.  blame anyone but yourself, early and often!

when can we expect to see reports of chinese "meddling" in our elections and attempts to subvert our democracy?

Now account for all of the scientists who agree that it was created in a lab.  One thing that can be said with certainty is that things currently do not add up.

But you won't give sources for your claim because your sources are conspiracy theory and troll sites that are not allowed on Thai Visa.

In 2005, a group including researchers from the Wuhan Institute of Virology published research into the origin of the SARS coronavirus, finding that China's horseshoe bats are natural reservoirs of SARS-like coronaviruses.[18] Continuing this work over a period of years, researchers from the Institute sampled thousands of horseshoe bats in locations across China, isolating over 300 bat coronavirus sequences.[19]

In 2015, an international team including two scientists from the Institute published successful research on whether a bat coronavirus could be made to infect HeLa. The team engineered a hybrid virus, combining a bat coronavirus with a SARS virus that had been adapted to grow in mice and mimic human disease. The hybrid virus was able to infect human cells.[20][21]

In 2017, a team from the Institute announced that coronaviruses found in horseshoe bats at a cave in Yunnan contain all the genetic pieces of the SARS virus, and hypothesized that the direct progenitor of the human virus originated in this cave. The team, who spent five years sampling the bats in the cave, noted the presence of a village only a kilometer away, and warned of "the risk of spillover into people and emergence of a disease similar to SARS".[19][22]

That makes it look like it occurred naturally.

Great ..create another conspiracy theory to galvanize your base against China...even though your own experts and intelligence agencies have told you numerous times there is zero evidence of what you are saying. A very corrupt and broken human being

American buddy tells me this is all about trying to raise his election chances; play the 'influencer' role (which he's done many times before) to make it look like he's the hero who stood up to China.

Quote:  "...all of the scientists...". So tell us who they are and to support your comment I'm expecting the list your supply will be very long.

Waiting...

Well yea Man Kind don't have the technology to create a Virus from scratch yet but they could combine it with other Viruses to make a new one more deadly. But the question is did it escape from the Wuhan Lab and if yes how?

Who are these scientists that think it was made in a lab? Please post links to such articles. There will always be one crackpot scientist that goes against conventional wisdom. Got to give cedit to the Chinese if they actually created a virus that completely resembles a naturally evolved one (there are tell-tale signs if a virus is created in the lav, and this one has none of those). Apat from that, it's bloody difficult to make a virus.

Zero evidence?  Trump was asked for evidence and he clearly stated he's prohibited from talking about it.  Doesn't take much to figure out why but here's a hint: it's an ongoing investigation.

But which are you going to believe - a proven liar or the intelligence services (who have said that the virus was NOT produced in a lab)?

While Trump may be said not to be allowed to reveal HOW he "knows" his claim to be the case, he should be able to refer to the institution that revealed it to him - CIA, FBI, Fox News . . .

China has not been truthful about many things concerning the corona virus, and it may very well be true that it originated from that Wuhan lab. If that turns out to be true, the world should hold China accountable. But that's really not the point here, is it? Trump and his cronies are playing the blame game and they're going to milk that for all it's worth, to try to shift the attention away from the <deleted>-poor job they did handling the outbreak of the virus in the USA.

China acted swiftly to protect their own interests without seriously alerting the rest of us.

The best conspiracy theory I’ve heard is this; What if the Chinese death rate is lower than they’ve claimed, even half of published figures? and what that then reveals.

"best conspiracy theory"?

That would infer that there's such a thing as a good conspiracy theory. There isn't, they're damaging and in the wrong hands dangerous. Usually they are in the wrong hands.

I'm afraid you cannot be 'confident' that something 'may' have happened.

You can be confident that something happened or you can think something may have happened (which is the same as thinking something did not happen). The presentation of the statement is done in a way to dog whistle up the rabid sinophobes. It is not designed to be helpful.

Usually I like your posts as well informed. However, in this instance there is credible detailed refutation of your claims concerning the Covid virus and the Chinese scientists.

https://www.factcheck.org/2020/01/coronavirus-wasnt-sent-by-spy-from-canada/

I NEVER said that those scientists sent a coronavirus from Canada.

I SAID that 2 viruses (Ebola and Henipha) were sent to China. I said that a Chinese scientist and her students were escorted from the same lab (months later) by the police who were investigating a "policy" breach.
I SAID that the scientist, her husband and her students all had their security clearances revoked.

I SAID that the same scientist had also been invited to work at the Level 4 Lab in Wuhan (they don't mention when she was there or if that was where she was going to on her many trips to China that she made while working at the Canadian lab).

The POINT was, the Chinese labs have a history of lax procedures and safety protocols, which has been reported on, repeatedly (like in the reports I linked from 2004 about the accidental release of deadly viruses from Chinese and other labs).

Got to say I’m surprised with your angry reply. Never said you said anything. I posted a fact-check link which refutes the claims made in the content you quoted, Not about you personally is it.. so no need whatsoever to shout.
