Daylight robbery: Bandits net 1 million baht in Chiang Rai bank heist [VIDEO]

Two robbers are believed to have stolen more than 1 million baht from a Bangkok Bank in Chiang Sean in Chiang Rai on Monday morning.

 

Police said the incident took place just after 10am and that two men dressed in black, escaped with 1,050,000 baht in cash.

 

Footage of the suspects fleeing the scene on a Honda Wave motorcycle was posted on Facebook.

 

Police said they are checking CCTV along the route in which the suspects fled.

Only in Thailand, would you make your escape from a bank robbery on a Honda Wave !!!!!

1 mil is not a lot these days for a bank to carry,surprised it wasnt more, but this is not going to be the first or last with current restrictions, people out of work, shortage of food for some, its going to lead to desperate measures by some.

 

 

Lot of risk for a few baht

Let me guess here, they were wearing face masks and gloves right? so they look pretty normal to anyone else in the bank, frankly i'm astounded as to why no more robberies has occurred now that anyone can wear a mask and gloves and no one will suspect a thing......

First time in civilisation that people have been asked to put a mask on to enter a bank

Can we assume the robbers are part of the same household. otherwise there will be social distancing charges on top ????

At least they had the guts to do it ala Butch Cassidy, not like these disgusting creeps who sit in grungy rooms in front of their computers happily risk free while they siphon millions out of people,s bank accounts. 

First time i walked in a bank in BKK i was shocked to see so many money ready for grabs. Only some cameras and 1 security guard for half a square meter of 1000 baht bundels.

Yes for the past 15 years and about 25k from where this happened but I have never seen bank robbers making their escape by riding down the wrong way 2 up on a Wave.

looks like the one filming them could be in on it lol. he only captured them when they were already a mile away, he was filming the electrical system i think.

I wasn't talking about bank robbers but the normal Thai motorbike riders. I personally have never seen any bank robbers. Have you?

I always shower first, and my room has nice new carpet and fresh paint.
