Farage is very happy now in his role as permanent ghat on the body politic. He's saying on his show now that Tory Whatapps groups are ringing to the sound of Cumming's must go and WHERE IS BORIS ?

Time for a new slogan;

Lock down MEANS Lock down.

How about 'Gone with the Bluebells' (the virus & the lockdown combined!)

Dominic Cummings has entered Downing Street No 10 a short while ago, reportedly without answering questions about his alleged second trip up north and his attitude towards resigning.

Like the farmers who wanted to import hundreds of untested eastern European fruit pickers when there were thousands of unemployed British workers looking for work, still they"probably "weren,t infected.

Not true.

From the Telegraph (hardly a PC, left wing, anti Tory rag!): Farmers forced to recruit thousands of East Europeans as British workers drop out of jobs "British farmers have prepared quarantine measures to continue to bring in EastEuropean labour"

From the Mail (another paper no one could accuse of being PC, left wing and anti Tory): First plane carrying 150 'critically important' Romanian fruit pickers who will join 'land army' battling to save Britain's harvest lands at Stansted "The young Romanians, a mix of men and women and all wearing face masks and gloves, filed out of the near empty airport in groups of five to comply with social distancing rules.

They were then transported by buses to a 7,000 hectare super farm in East Anglia ahead of the start of the picking season on Monday.

The Romanians are joining the fight to save the UK's harvest with the British 'land army', which was created to prevent crops being left rotting in fields.

The Country Land & Business Association has said more than 30,000 people have signed up as volunteers, but that 80,000 workers are needed to ensure fruit and vegetables are picked on time, ready to feed the nation."

This was sanctioned by BJ's Brexit government.

Yes

Dominic Cummings was involved in designing the guidelines and rules

At no point publicly has he objected to them.

The guidelines was widely interpreted that the isolation period meant staying at your current location and prohibited travelling to another property.

It now appears that Dominic wishes to re interpret the guidelines to appease his actions.

I'm not defending his actions. In fact I can't stand the man. I'm just asking if the punishment fits the 'crime'.

If we all screwed up then none of us would have a job. Public shame him and hope he has learnt his lesson and move on.

There are bigger things in the world to worry about than this garbage.

That'll be like Orville sacking Keith Harris ????

If Boris capitulates to sacking by media his Govt will be no better than Teresa Mays after the 2017 GE. If that's where this is going bring on PR before the next election.

As I asked earlier, why did Cummings and his wife break self isolation; could Cummings' sister not travel to London to collect the child?

Ah, OK, now you are suggesting that in special cases its OK to 'break' the lock down rules.

Thanks for the clarification.

The post from which you have made your edited quote was a direct response to a post of Vinny41:

Here is what was stated on March 24

Within 24 hours, Dr Jenny Harries, the deputy chief medical officer for England, outlined possible exceptions to that rule, including how ill parents with a small child created “exceptional circumstances”.

At the Downing Street press conference on March 24 Dr Harries said parents who are ill and may not be able to look after a child created “exceptional circumstances” where family members could be called upon to help.

"Family members could be called upon to help."

Not "Infected people can break self isolation and make a 500 mile round trip."

As I asked earlier, why did Cummings and his wife break self isolation; could Cummings' sister not travel to London to collect the child?

So I suggest you direct your comment/question to him.

Oh dear that bad that quick then. Problem is he is wounded from the virus , obese and a new parent with a young fiance at the helm of the worse crisis since WW2 what could possibly go wrong. He may get DC to abjectly apologise and seek contrition as a middle way.

'Family values' don't sit well with a Johnstonian government.

I might agree with you if he would have come out straight away with the truth about both/all 3 trips and would have publicly admitted guilt and apologised.

Imo too late for that now.

I am fascinated at Labour's strategy throughout the Cummings crisis: to hold back.

They've NOT called for DC to be sacked (although do want investigation).@Keir_Starmer hasn't said a word.

Heeding Napoleon's advice to avoid interrupting your enemy when he's making a mistake?

Not that you would ever do such a thing; you merely make remarks like "As you still haven't grasped why the 'right-said-freds' ("I'm-still-waiting-for..." set to their familiar tune) aren't popping up via MSM further debate in your direction is a complete waste of time.

Try sticking me on ignore instead." (See here)

More extreme examples, like the one where you implied I was too stupid to understand you, have been removed by the mods.

Confirmation (if any was needed) that you have them on speed dial

Patel's son?

Or Abbot's.

If the latter, Abbot was embarrassed when asked to justify his private schooling when she speaks out against private education. Her son then got himself arrested, I believe also charged for assaulting officers and there was some issue that if Labour had won, his mum would've likely been Home Secretary and might have swept it all under the carpet. He pleaded guilty as was due to be sentenced early April. He has been charged in court before with serious offense. All very strange has he is a Cambridge graduate and was working as a diplomat. Interesting reading.

So Abbot's son was arrested, charged and pleaded guilty to breaking the law.

How does that justify Cummings' defenders saying he should be excused when he breaks the law?

Scotland has different rules to England; indeed all the four nations of the UK have their own rules regarding Covid 19.

Neither London nor Durham are in Scotland, they are both in England. If Cummings went from London to Durham via any part of Scotland, then he travelled a lot more than 260 miles!

Remote working in Scotland remains the default, they are encouraging people to stay at home.

"Iain Stewart, who is one of those leading the charge in Orkney’s fight against the virus, and encourages residents to avoid nonessential travel.............."

Just wondered how many on hear would consider these trips to and from the mainland unnecessary when he has a perfectly good place to stay on Orkney?

Still waiting for a reply on this one me old mate.

Since when has sacking-by-media been the norm & how did it not apply when Abbacus bailed her son out etc?

At least since the time of Profumo.

My money's on Johnson resigning 'for health reasons' in the not too distant future. Talk of Gove is on manoeuvres.
