Wirat Kaewthongpan

A man who reportedly confessed to murdering two men and dumping their burned bodies in a Songkhla forest claims the crime was an act of revenge after the men raped his wife.

Wirat Kaewthongpan, 35, told police that Anucha Suphanit, 27, and Prasert Thamraksa, 20, had raped his wife, 29, causing her to become insane.

Police suspect the crime stemmed instead from a dispute over drug-dealing. Wirat was previously involved in a similar murder case but managed to escape punishment.

Wirat told police that he asked the victims to come to his house, before shooting them and dumping their bodies in the forest. Police found a large bloodstain in the yard of his house.

He said he had tried to burn the bodies to erase the evidence of his crime, but locals spotted the charred corpses still bound together in the forest on Sunday (May 24).

Investigators will now arrange for his wife to undergo psychological tests to assess whether she is mentally ill. If so, they want to know if she became insane before or after being raped.

Wirat is accused of four crimes: murder, defiling corpses to conceal the cause of death, possessing weapons without permission and stealing a motorcycle.

Stealing a motorbike!!!??? He's gonna swing for that!

Three nutters off the streets though.

Does it make a difference in Thai law if "she became insane before or after being raped"?

In any case, if it is true what he claims (that she was raped) then I can understand him. Who didn't understand Charles Bronson in his good old movies, taking justice in his hands!

Drugs , Rape , Murder and mentally ill ... the usual ingredients for a real-life Thai Soap ...

I can understand why the thai wife became ' insane ' .

While I don't condone murder, when the "social contract" between citizens and government: "leave justice to the government and hold back on revenge" breaks down, this is to be expected.

What will become of the wife now I wonder

That is if the murderer is telling the truth.

Probably is now after living with a man that just murdered and burned two people and had done the same previously

Being associated with those 3 probably did it !

That people think they can commit murder and hide the fact by burning the bodies in a forest is amazing.

Well, if one is a Thai park official & the victim is a hill-tribe member, then yes one can get away with it.

It depends on who one is.
