Popular Post webfact
Govt moves towards determining criteria tor travel bubble pact By THE NATION Anutin Charnvirakul Two senior officials have been given the task of setting the criteria for the “travel bubble” pact and negotiating with partner countries. Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on Wednesday (June 17) that he had assigned the responsibility to Dr Suwanchai Wattanayingcharoenchai, director-general of the Department of Disease Control, and Dr Supakit Sirilak, the ministry’s permanent secretary. The travel bubble pact aims to select countries that have the Covid-19 situation under control as well as have suitable preventive measures in order to consider letting travellers from those countries enter the Kingdom. “Numerous embassies have submitted documents to Thailand for the purpose, such as Japan and Switzerland, with whom we will hold discussions soon,” said Anutin. “The topics to be discussed will include screening measures upon arrival, candidate selection criteria and preventive measures that must be implemented by both the host and visiting countries.” Anutin further added that the pact will be carried out in the form of a MoU [memorandum of understanding] between both parties and can be revoked in case the Covid-19 situation in either country unexpectedly escalates. “Initially, we will allow only businessmen, technicians, professors and those who have valid work permits to enter our nation, before permitting tourists,” he said. “We expect to submit the meeting result to the Prime Minister and the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration next Friday [June 26],” added Anutin. Meanwhile, Suwanchai added that the fundamental criteria that both parties under the travel bubble pact must fulfill are: having declining number of domestic confirmed Covid-19 cases; and have adequate medical efficiency and staff in treating Covid-19 patients. But I have absolutely no desire to visit Thailand. Laos has done a much better job than Thailand in preventing widespread Wuhan flu cases (19 cases, zero deaths, all recovered). Our lock-down has ended and there were only sensible regulations implemented, unlike some of the crazy rules in Thailand. I can renew my Lao WP and annual visa in-country. I feel much safer here than in Thailand (and with 2 ex-wives in Thailand, I definitely feel safer here in Laos!). 11 2

Total positive cases and total covid related deaths. Then change into per head of population. Seems we wrong! China very safe for a bubble. Having a joke....but nothing would surprise me Edited June 18, 2020 by DrJack54 1

Popular Post DirtyHarry55
They could start by not banning Foreigners from entering National Parks hopefully that's not going to be the new norm otherwise Thailand could become a bit boring for tourists. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/2020/06/17/national-park-waterfalls-closes-doors-to-foreigners/ 2 1

Popular Post LEKPHUKET
Completely ridiculous , one of the human rights is to be free to travel. Just open the country and let everyone decide by himself which risk he wants to take. The measures taken for the pandemic are more affecting the world economy then the pandemic itself. The figures are just a big joke even as the government We are hijacked in the country where we live. measles kill 425.000 people every year much more then covid and the economy was never closed.
