Foreigner on work permit violation flees police at the red light A foreigner on his way to being deported from Thailand for working illegally fled from the custody of the Bang Lamung police at an intersection in Pattaya. After a two hour search in which Pattaya police helped their colleagues, the man was nowhere to be found. The Cambodian jumped out of a Bang Lampung police vehicle as he was being taken from Pattaya Remand Prison to the station where he was due to be picked up by officers from the Muang Pattaya police. Picture: 77kaoded He was then due to be handed over to the immigration police for deportation after his case had concluded. The drama happened at the lights at the Nong Kate Yai intersection on Sukhumvit Road in Bang Lamung District. I'm sure the police would put that down as suicide. 2
Popular Post champers
Offenders always seem to be left on their own on the back of a pick up. Saw a falang being driven along Beach Rd the other day in this mode. Police made a recent arrest at my condo complex and a dozen police officers attended the scene yet the perp was driven away unescorted on the back of a pickup. Must be a Thai thing. 4 1

Some of the plastic liner trays that go in the back of pick-ups usually have large metal loops to secure rope to. Even without the plastic liner, I'm sure someone could fabricate a closed loop. A handcuff on one wrist and the other handcuff on the metal loop would prevent them doing a runner.

Paiman
Wonder who gave him the work? Sure not a Thai employer, they would not do that....leaves a farang having him work.
Popular Post Orac
I better get my door locked with such a dangerous felon on the loose in the area - he might show up and tidy my garden or something without a work permit.... 2

Perhaps a large cable tie around the neck and through the liner metal loop then.

That incorporates the Thai Health & Safety at Work procedure too.

ChipButty
It's an Elf and Safety issue if he is handcuffed in the back of a truck and it's involved in a accident could be classed as suicide Edited June 27, 2020 by ChipButty
