Laos to require medical documents for travelers seeking to exit the country

Laos’ government now requires individuals seeking to exit the country to produce a medical clearance certificate for their destination before being allowed to exit, in an effort to stifle the spread of covid-19.
The National Taskforce Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Laos dictated that all travelers procure a medical certificate clearing its holders free of the coronavirus.

The covid-19 taskforce announced that travelers without a medical permit would be barred from entering the desired destinations.

Laos’ deputy director of Mittaphab Hospital, Dr Vangnakhone Dittaphong, highlighted the medical clearances’ utmost importance to prevent the spread of the coronavirus overseas.
The state would produce multiple health checkpoints, which will check if travelers are carrying the needed medical documents before allowing entry.
Travelers seeking a medical certificate could obtain one from government-designated hospitals throughout Laos.
However, to prevent the virus’s local transmission, persons exhibiting symptoms of the infection will be barred from procuring the needed medical documents.

it's to make sure you take the virus with you when you go.

More likely so they don't get the finger pointed for spreading.......
