My GF just got a new job driving a school bus (aka tuk tuk) in the morning and afternoon.  Her license clearly says "private car driving license".  Are their separate types of licenses for this type of work?  The bus belongs to the school.

There are separate driving licenses for private/public transport.

There is a separate class for three wheelers.

I am a bit puzzled about "bus" vs. "tuk-tuk".

Is it actually a three wheeler?

Very sure that it is not legal to do this kind of job with a private driving license.

I think these are completely illegal anyway, so the driving license doesn't matter much.

At least overcrowding/standing would be illegal.

But how would the students get to school with the miserable public transport?

13yr olds on motorbike?

I don't think that "song tăew" ("two rows", in Pattaya called "Baht bus") are illegal per se?

Slightly off topic  but still on licence catergories, I notice there's no mention of heavy goods vehicles there.

"Class 3 - Trailer" in the second table.

Pictures of these license on Google images are rare, here on as example:

No weights are mentioned in that 2nd table. What about a rigid HGV?

That licence example seems to be a class 2, which is up to 3.5tonnes.
