July 18, 20205 yr Popular Post Yes past time that bunch of unethical clowns were gone. The younger generation are a lot more savvy than their parents, and are not prepared to put up with things their parents did.
July 18, 20205 yr Popular Post There is still hope for this country, as long as the youth fights for their rights. Go for it boys and girls!
July 18, 20205 yr Popular Post Is this anyway to treat the self proclaimed father of the Thai people? For shame!

July 19, 20205 yr Popular Post Yet, they wonder why Thousands gathered last night to protest and stand up for there rights which have been trampled all over. Ethically speaking, what other than making themselves even more powerful by passing more policies that favor themselves and there friends can possibly done. How do you usurp usurpers who took a country by coup and will not release it from it's grip. You can not have ethics when what you have built in your own eyes has been built on lies and deceit.

Well, just remember that when the new generation is your age you be 6ft under ... so no need to worry about changing a tyre ... ???? Experts..... So today's lot are experts are they ?? Every new generation tend to bring a certain level of change. Sometime for the better, sometime not ..... The few Thais I know do not have much positive to say about the current lot. And they are far beyond the 'next generation' ....

No, Thaksin and Yingluck and the rest of the government were elected. This regime were the people who took away Thai people's rights through a coup, appointed military and other cronies to the entire Thai senate, crushed politicians and political parties competing with them in the election using a corrupted election system and much more. And prior to the coup, the present regime's members were those in charge of the military who murdered nearly a hundred Thais at protests in Bangkok. And from the start of the coup and during the present regime's power, these men harassed and jailed people. This regime saw Thai citizens disappeared and pulled from the Mekong with concrete in their corpses and the regime has no comment and no interest in who murdered them. And many others have disappeared without investigation by this regime including another one last month. Nothing like this happened under Thaksin or Yingluck. So yes, there is a difference with this regime. It needs to go. Some of it's members should be jailed.
July 19, 20205 yr Popular Post Seven reasons why Prayut should not be new PM Prayut lacks a mandate from the people since he did not run for election. Also, he is the sole PM candidate nominated by Phalang Pracharat, which failed to win a majority of seats in the March election and thereby has little in the way of legitimacy to form a government. July 19, 20205 yr I was living on the back part of soi 23 when Suthep's thousands blocked the intersection of Asoke and Sukhumvit, for how long was it? At that point I decided that the country is essentially ungovernable, which is NOT the same as saying it needs a military style government, it's rather a statement about the culture. If the young of Bangkok who aspire to membership in a modern middle class society got the pure democracy they seem to want, they would end up working for the farmers in Issan, and they would discover that the new boss is the same as the old boss, maybe even worse. In the US folks are fond of saying that people get the government they deserve, and boy is it true here in LOS, right now. It could be better, it could be worse.
July 19, 20205 yr Anyone who runs from debate, dislikes foreigners, and just bores people to death is ethically challenged and dull witted.

July 19, 20205 yr I think one of the more interesting questions asked was about manners. I've been here since 1997 and until recently I wasn't even aware there was a Thai word for manners much less the concept of manners.

How true. And it needs to be said that ethics/being considered ethical comes mostly from establishing a real situation of serious credibility. Credibility is one (just one) of the factors currently missing in the people why try to win elections and in fact often do win because there's no real choices, and/or folks with credibility and ethics don't want to join an overall scaly insincere gang of thieves. And further the folks who win elections and then become ministers are even more strongly lacking in credibility. And further we have ministers who make ridiculous policies, often obviously aimed at self/ party/crony benefits but all lacking credibility.

Since when does being able to change a tyre have a bearing on politics? Even your pretend friend Prayuth admitted that he knew nothing about politics, which is why he enlisted the help of the Khunpluems et al, as advisors. I'm sure Prayuth can change a tyre. Though perhaps not much good at anything else.

July 19, 20205 yr Sorry, but an ethical politicians is just an oxymoron. Politicians are by nature unethical, look at any politician in Thailand or the world and it is fairly self evident that politicians are primed to be self interested and unethical. Prayut came to power via a military coup. What more needs to be said to confirm the aforementioned supposition.
