best water pump brand

Hello. Our Fujika water pump has given up the ghost. We've had it three years and had constant problems with it.

We have a two bedroom house, one kitchen, three bathrooms, with the tank/pump right next to the house covered in the back garden.

So will buy tomorrow at HomePro, will aim for a 250W pump.

 

But what is the best brand to buy? Any ideas.

 

Haven't been impressed with this Fujika one.

I have a Mitsubishi for 10 years now, that pumps the house, with no problems. I have a Hatachi for our well, that has served us well for about four years.

Either Mitsubishi or Hitachi, both are good.

Best water pump brand Grundfos. Best reasonably priced brand Mitsubishi/Hitachi as mentioned, probably not much difference between them.

We've two Hitachi pumps, one about 10 years old on the roof that feeds the house. The second about 6 years old that acts as a staging pump to shift water to the roof; local mains water pressure is no longer sufficient to move water up to the roof.

Grundfos is interesting. And expensive! But can't see a 250W model on the HomePro website. They seem to start at 500W.

Might have to go for a Hitachi 250W.

With all due respect, HomePro would not be my first choice to buy a water pump. They do not stock professional water pumps such as the Mitsubishi 7 stage Super Pumps.  Homepro, Global, ThaiWatsadu are not authorized to sell or service professional Mitsubishi Super Pumps. Another GREAT very dependable brand of home water pump is DAB.  Not sold at Homepro. Mitsubishi and Hitachi make some nice consumer models of water pumps. A slightly less expensive brand of water pump at many stores and even on lazada is ITC.  A longer warranty than most. The pumps are actually made in the Hitachi water pump manufacturing plant in Thailand. In Korat better grade water pumps are sold BMC in the downtown. In Buriram Ruangsangthai across from the PEA on 2074 sells hundreds of water pumps every week. Both BMC and Ruangsangthai also fix water pumps at the same location you buy the water pump. Grundfos is a fine brand of water pump at that price point. DAB and Mitsubishi Super Pump will be less money than Grundfos for similar pumps in Isaan Thailand. Before you BUY a water pump, be sure to ask WHERE and WHO will fix it during the warranty period. Homepro is always on my list to select porcelain floor tile, Samsung appliances, but not a place with a wide selection of better quality water pumps.

Your professional prejudice is showing. 
 

HomePro do stock a significantly higher grade of pump than you suggest. They have Grundfos which is at least as good as the Mitsubishi “super pump” (just a marketing name by the way) if not significantly better.

Doing well with my Mitsubishi pump for 3 years. 

Very happy with it. 

2 bathroom, two toilets. Kitchen and garden supplies.

I had a Fujika, very quiet, lasted 12 years. Replaced it with a Mitsu, works OK but noisy...

OP here. My choice of HomePro is based on the fact that I don’t know any reliable specialist to install and maintain the pump. I know at HomePro they have reliable - but admittedly not cheap - ‘Changs’ - who can do all that. We live in BKK and had so many problems over the years with rubbish ‘changs’. Will probably go for Mitsubishi or Hitachi.

A reasonably safe choice and at least you have a company to complain to if the installation is poor.
Our Mitsubishi went around 8 years before needing a part that I fitted myself.

Maintenance of water pumps is seldom needed and HomePro will probably just send it off if it’s in the guarantee period.
 

Grundfos is a little different, the guarantee is longer and my experience of needing to claim under it was perfect, take the pump (9 months old) to the dealer (I’m 60km away) they took about 5 minutes to check it was faulty, handed me a brand new pump in its box, also told me I could have videoed the fault to avoid the 5 minute wait while it was being checked in case it was something that could be fixed without replacement.

I am sticking with Mitsubishi. I returned to the factory a 305 pump that was totally submerged & anodized all over it.(We put it in the ground near the well to keep Kamoies out, unfortunately the waterproofed cement enclosure got flooded. No questions asked they gave us a totally new pump 3 years after purchase. 4 years later we went on Vacation to Koh Kood & our well's footing pipe clogged & the pump overheated for 3 or 4 days running dry & broke the pump casing. They again replaced the top end & pump parts free of charge. Since then we have bought 2 more Mitsubishi pumps for our house Zero problems. I would avoid anything with a bladder if you get a Mitsu or a Hitachi. They are kind of a pain in the ass &* the 305-405 kicks ass all over the bladder varieties.& really never needs maintained provided you don't do a boneheaded thing like flooding the pump or forgetting to shut the pump down if you go on a vacation.Only company I know in Thailand that just takes care of the customer instead of the usual tail light guaranty you get at Homepro-ish type stores. If it ever needs repair I send it directly to Bangkok to Mitsubishi where they always have treated me right & never give you a song & a dance like I wont name & shame shops in Pattaya. We have a 305 waiting for when we get our new house. I like the company a lot! :)
