And yet, when the idea was mooted a year or two ago for every tourist to be tracked with a SIM card that they had to obtain when arriving in Thailand there was a huge outcry (and, as usual, it was just talk and no action). Now, people are demanding a way to track everyone's movements while they are in Thailand. It's a funny old world.

For example, they widened a road near me about a year or so ago, and it's had so many potholes so many times it's been re-laid three times already.

I was lucky left last March before lock down since then have stayed at home and surprised to see how much my bank balance has grown by just staying at home no wonder I was so welcome previously whilst in Thailand. No foreign tourists, no Money, no honey I am sure I am not alone so politicians better come with a realiatic plan for tourism to start up safely very soon

Don't get me wrong there "retirees", I feel for you but you all are out of this country of your own accord (retiree means don't have a job) traveled to worst infected areas in the world, again, of your own accord and are now complaining about your poor choice. Those of us who choose Thailand as the place we want to live are still here w/o issues and enjoying some peace and quiet in otherwise over crowded areas that we choose to move here to enjoy. Best Song Kran I've seen in a long time. I personally didn't move here to see a bunch a raging, drunk, weekend rich idiots terrorizing and trashing the country. Been a really peaceful year so far. Suck it up cupcake. This won't last forever and it does no good to complain that your host isn't revamping their country to suit you. These are the boomer rants that keep me coming back to thaivisa. AlQaholic
Strange that they are taking this approach when 20% of the economy is tourist related. I think it should be workable to isolate the tourists completely from the locals, keep them in zones where only tourists are allowed and locals are kept out. Shouldn't that be possible? A new normal? changes in the way tourism is done? Edited September 3, 2020 by AlQaholic
Popular Post spidermike007
Easy to say don't panic, when you are sitting on billions of baht. Likely stolen. And what do the people do? OK for you to spend 22 billion on low quality submarines that have no real function for the nation. But, how much are you coming up with to assist the people? This hapless administration needs to develop some courage and initiative. They can't hide from the world forever. Extreme timidity from supposedly tough men is an amusing thing to witness. However, the pain they are inflicting on millions is not. All people from all nations should be welcome starting tomorrow. If you are willing to endure quarantine, no restrictions whatsoever. No begging of a consulate for permission to visit. That is nonsensical stupidity. Are we hound dogs, or are we people? 3
