Prayut Chan-o-cha

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha yesterday (September 8 ) scotched rumours of a coup d’etat, telling the press they were pure nonsense.

He also said he would “cure” the unemployment problem in the country.

The PM said the government aimed to help not just business giants but also SMEs and small retailers.

He said his government does not plan cash handouts of another Bt3,000 to people, calling this too a rumour.

“The Bt3,000 cash handout has not been talked about at Cabinet meetings,” he added.

That is a shame. Be tragically ironic if someone stole power, in exactly the way he did to take it himself in the first place.

Didn't he say something similar in early May of 2014?

That he felt need to comment at all says something.

Don't know what.  But something.  And I do wish him the best in solving the economic problems.

The writing mut be on the wall, as why would he put the word out.  He did say something similar the last time, but this time he isn't in control of the whole shebang like he thinks.  Wait maybe "He just tink to mut"

As Julius Cesar said "Et Tu Brutus".  Makes me wonder who will be the last to put in the knife and cut him out of the Government.

Why the hurry to sign all these major infrastructure projects then something is definitely afoot.

I do believe you are correct. The first week of February 2014 he said there would not be a coup. Three weeks later, he said he couldn't say there wouldn't be a coup. About three months after that, there was a coup that he infamously claimed wasn't a coup.

Also, world history shows that the last person(s) to be aware of a pending coup tends to be those holding power. This is a not a uniquely Thai phenomenon.

Does PM Prayut have any lean and hungry cabinet ministers?

Every time the head honcho says there is no coup, there's a coup. So, I'm guessing before the 19th, the big demonstration in BKK? It's way overdue anyway, isn't it like every 4 years in average? Like an election, Thai style with tanks.

Well there is A Nut In the house who greedily awaits his turn.

Interesting is he thinking of couping himself ????

Should not be a bad thing, things can not get worser. This country needs a business minded leader like we had 20 y ago not a soldier in a nice suit

So, does this mean you can't have a coup for a coup?

Khun Prayut is right in squashing rumors made up by the press.

Just nonsense talk ... as he said. If anyone can get the unemployment numbers down it's Khun Prayut.

Excellent work by him as usual.

Hmm, perhaps we should consider that if the army is going to have a coup against itself then it is unlikely that it will be moderates doing so, more likely hard liners that think things are too soft and want to see a hard man in charge.

  • Popular Post

The bit of the interview I saw he was telling reporters they should go home for asking if there'll be a coup. He then stormed off stage waving his arms around in a dismissive manner. Doesn't really instill confidence, does it? Me thinks he knows.

A strong leader would simply say that they're in charge, there will be no coup and they're working hard to make things better. Not this man. He just has another tantrum like a spoilt toddler who's been told they must give back the toy that they stole from another kid.

The bar's set low when saying you'll lower employment figures after 6+ years is "excellent work".

Will he start lowering the numbers before or after he's done eradicating corruption and reforming the police? I didn't include returning happiness as most Thais knew it was complete BS from the beginning.

What do you mean?    Your comments seem to reflect a different Thailand .....   numbers don't lie.

Thailand handled the COVID19 crisis very well as there were minimal cases or deaths, unlike other countries that skyrocketed.

Thailand had an increase of GPD year on year since Khun Prayut Chan O Cha came to office in 2014.

Thailands government spending on infrastructure rose more year on year since Khun Prayut came to office.

Khun Prayut implemented more projects in the last 5 years than predecessors tried to do in 10 years.

Prayut Chan-o-cha is a Thai politician, retired Royal Thai Army general officer and former leader of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), the military junta which governed Thailand between 22 May 2014 and 10 July ... including his brother Preecha Chan-o-cha and Minister to the Office of the Prime Minister ...

Actually, it should be "Et tu Brute" (vocative), but he was being stabbed at the time and probably could care less about being grammatically correct...

Well he hasn't been able to go to the flood areas and walk on water yet, but at t his point if he tried he would sink like a regime rock.
