I love this quote:

"Actually I paid tax. And you'll see that as soon as my tax returns - it's under audit, they've been under audit for a long time," he told reporters after the story was published on Sunday.

Pants on fire! ????

Maybe this is the audit he has in mind haha

Trump is currently embroiled in a decade-long Internal Revenue Service audit over a $72.9 million tax refund he claimed after declaring large losses. If the IRS rules against him in that audit, he could have to pay over $100 million, according to the newspaper.

Amazon did not pay a dime either.

Isn´t that what the Republican tax reforms are supposed to achieve? No taxes for the job creators? And no "death tax" at all, not even for inheritances of 10m+, because he wanted to help the family farms in Iowa?

Here´s the difference to the Great Orange Leader:

Amazon, Apple, Microsoft and the other S&P500 corps do it by reporting their profits in other countries with low effective company tax rates such as Ireland and Switzerland and by not repatriating profits to their US headquarters, for instance by charging license fees and royalties from their tax havens to their US entities. I´m not aware of a Republican push to dry out these cross-national rivers of money.

There is no Trump brand entity in Ireland that charges license fees to the Trump Tower in NY. The Great Deal Maker does not have a hoard of corporate billions of accumulated profit in Ireland. He generates genuine losses all over the world, whether it was his casinos, his airline, Trump steaks and vodka, or many of his golf resorts. He´s run his businesses like he ran the federal respone to the Coronavirus, bloviating and tweeting. Instead of some billions in losses for business partners, some 400,000 citizens will be a casualty of his management approach to Covid by next January.

Close the loopholes, a 15% flat tax with no exceptions regardless of salary. Fix it, don't just complain about the players.

To all you Trump lovers & haters out there....

Trump is NOT a failed businessman.

Trump is NOT a tax cheat.

Trump is NOT a money launderer.

Trump IS all three of these things.

I can't stand Trump... but The NYT and many other news agencies are doing all that they can to make him look worse than he is. Their motive? Well, we all know their selfish & political motives.

Exposing your opponent's weaknesses is just sound strategy, especially in politics.

Yes, the NYT & other news agencies are opponents of the President.

Indeed the days of journalists even pretending to be unbiased are long gone.

In a decade or two half the rich people in America will be residing in Puerto Rico, at least that is where their irs address will be. I can't believe they have not flocked there already, Americans are such wimps, deathly afraid of travel and change is the only reason.

Sometime in between now and then, the US is going to realize it has a huge problem.

One would think with all the prosecutors and "journalists" that have been working for 5-6 years to prove Trump a tax cheat they'd have come up with more than this.

It is worth noting that they article does not mention any crimes being committed.

People in the US travel quite a lot, they just have plenty of wonderful places to visit year 'round without having to leave the country. Unlike some many other countries  where citizens actually have to escape to have a nice time.

I'm from California, where are you from?

Even if you consider the stuff in this article as true and correct (I don't) I assume that whatever amount he paid is according to the tax laws and cleared by the best accountants money can buy.

In other words: A big fat nothing burger compliments of the fake news.

What kind of person denies the mountains of evidence?  As trump has said, verified by multiple sources inside his inner circle, he thinks his supporters are "disgusting".  He thinks military people are "losers" and "suckers".  He ignored intelligence that Putin paid the Taliban to kill US soldiers.  He's on camera making fun of a handicapped reporter.  The list goes on and on.  Everyone knows these things are true and yet you keep denying it and the mountains of irrefutable evidence of all the other horrible things he has said and done just so you can keep licking his boots.

What kind of person of person denies these things they know are true?  Over and over again.

An denied by even more of his inner circle.

Amazingly, there are still people that believe he said there were good white supremists.

Gates? Bill Gates, the guy who gave away more than half of his money to charity? Before you post next time maybe check the facts.

Those people are not worth responding to imo.  I think that is an Alex Jones conspiracy and anyone who listens to him is a fool.  Even if they got it from somewhere else they would have to have rocks in their head to believe a single word of it.

Will that do them any good?

(Now... or in a decade or two, when half the rich people in America move to PR...)
