It was very clear that the deadline was 26th September. Either you complied, like any sensible person would have done, or you didn't, in which case you deserve the fines. The immigration have been extremely lenient during these times to help.

There won't be any fines. Immigration did their job and the government introduced the necessary amnesty. Pretty clear.

Well.. They got my 1900 baht last week and I'm 'safe' for another month.

If only they'd allow processing of short term to long stay visa within Thailand.. I'd just apply for a 1 year extension based on marriage and relax a little.

There is another thread where they said coppers are out today asking for passports.

Gotta get that fine while it's available!

Yeah, read that somewhere too. People on overstay should be extremely careful at the moment when they're out and about. IDC Prison  is not a pretty place.

I was just reading on another news source that was published about 3 hours ago, saying that an Immigration Bureau spokesman said that he  had no knowledge of this so called  leaked document showing that the amnesty will be extended until Oct. 31.
So, someone has got this news very wrong.

More flip flopping.
