They just keep useing sticky plasters on the real problem, and the real problem is the bodged rain water run off, and once they fix that problem, they can have a word with Mr T in Dubai because they were very successful in expanding there beaches and building the palm and the world... Oh I forgot this is TIT????

Looks like erosion caused by storm water drain run off.

This is an old gem, but shouldn't they address how to dispose of storm water before dumping more sand. Too logical?

It is run off.

If you look at where the beach is washed away it is nearly always opposite one of the Sois sloping down from 2nd road.

do they have torrential rain for several months at a time in Dubai.

Silly comparison really?

They need to put a breakwater in so that there is a limit to where the sand can go.

At least then it would be easier to reclaim the sand.  Not really sure how else you can stop the erosion

No they don't, they just need to let it happen again and again and skim money off the top of the rehabilitation budget!

Is Darth Vader your neighbor?    As for the beach let nature take it back......Nature always wins, ask covid

Covid doesn't answer, maybe too warm here for poor Covid. In North Pattaya Beach, plants are growing now, and all kinds of grass. Pattaya Hillside is a garden resort anyway. Ever been to Siam Country Club?

Yes, nature wins, and Thais love nature.

Why do you think are all these bargirls in Pattaya Beach so extremely healthy?

Hasn't anyone at the Town Hall twigged that water runs downhill.  Surely clear channels for the floods to follow could be put in place to flow directly into the sea without touching the sand.

It is an open secret that someone connected to the town's rulers has the contract for replacing the missing sand a couple of times a year.

Sure. Beach lovers want sand, so they get sand.

Farangs love pool billiard and beer, so they get pool billiard and beer. And all these Thai beauties around...

Thais actually hate nature!

They either raze it to the ground and cover it with concrete, or they use it to dump their garbage.

As for the bargirls, they die of old age at 40...or sooner...

Then, how come I meet so many ex-bargirls from times of the Vietnam War?

Don't get mistaken. Many went back to Issan where they get quite old, and many come back to Pattaya (Dark Side) occasionally.

That was another generation, 50 years ago.

But I have always wondered about those who were in their 20s at the beginning of this century, most of whom were running on a cocktail of alcohol and whatever drugs you can imagine...what has happened to them?

Not really easy to relocate in Isaan these days...

They became bar tenders or shop owners, or they work as waitresses.

Oh you said "TIT", tee hee.   And how much rainfall is there in Dubai?  And if you have ever actually been in Dubai during their very occasional rainstorms it wreaks absolute havoc with widespread flooding.  Every single time.  Even a minor rainstorm causes chaos there.

You need to think a bit harder before putting the Thais down.

They should sell tickets for kids to get to play around with the sand, using real man tools. Boys & toys.

This is that beautiful beach they are trying to replicate in Jomtien? Good grief...

No, this is the beach they are currently repairing (again). It actually looks pretty good when they give it a skim of sand.

They could stop the erosion by putting 1metre drain pipes from Beach road to approx 500 metres out into the ocean, then put the sand down, but no too much money to be made on kickbacks by bringing in machines all the time to fix problem, and who owns the machines????????????

https://www.pattayamail.com/news/beach-road-drainage-system-50-complete-50204 The 2m diam drain pipes under Beach Rd at South end worked. The pipes at North end and soi6 filled up with sand. So 2/3 failed project.

Why not position the outlet closer to the water and cover the extended pipeline/culvert with sand. Less to replace after every storm.

That would be too logical and too efficient  for thai-way of doing things!

They rather build things half-a$$ so they break down faster and over and over and over...which also explains why the Thai unemployment rate is less than 1 percent, actually 0.7% to be more precise. After all, someone has to fix what's broken
