I think you will find that it was not just water dispersed from the cannons, it also contained an undisclosed stinging chemical !

Not an unsurprising tactic from a man who is used to using underhanded tactics to get what he wants.

yes, I read about the water just before.

apparently the chemicals in the water were not dangerous,

and apparently the police did abide by international standards to disperse the group.

Anyway,  it's good that no one was seriously injured and hopefully all got home safely.

They ( the students & protestors )  made their point and spoke so that's good also.

Would be a good idea if these hero protesters got a sample of the water from the cannons tested.

I'm pretty sure its the same blue dye used in the last protests in Hong Kong. Relatively harmless and intended as an indelible dye so that the authorities can pick out the protesters later.

Protesters will be back again today. Looks like this is going to be ongoing.

Madmitch, I do not think they will stop until either one of three things occur: 1. A Coup, 2. He is made to step down. or 3. There is a totalitarian response like in Hong Kong or the massacre in Tiananmen Square.

Its very close to the Hong Kong response now. May well surpass it tonight.

If these protests are ongoing, possibly another curfew coming although I doubt this will stop them.

They're already breaking the emergency law. Can't see them complying to curfew rules.

Groups bigger than 5 not allowed.

Go this evening to soi 11 and a few other ones where bars are completely full and open until 4am.

It will fragment. The government is fighting the last protest, with Red Shirts and their static encampment. These protests look to be adopting different mobile tactics. The government is ready for trench warfare and the protests are planning a Blitzkrieg instead.

URGENT: MRT has just announced that they have closed ALL of their stations across #Bangkok on the Blue Line. At the moment, the Purple Line, ARL and BTS are operating as normal. This is due to the planned #ม็อบ17ตุลา protest at train stations at 3pm #Thailand

Isn’t it ironic that the preventive measures by the Thai government to stop the #ม็อบ17ตุลา taking place is leading to a #BangkokShutdown? Like yesterday they closed major roads which forced shopping malls to close. Now it looks like the rail system in #Bangkok will shutdown too.

What's next? shutting down internet in Thailand?

yes, but the recent protests don't bring the numbers.

it's pretty clear from the various pictures over recent days that protesters struggle to get people together.

that's because protesters don't pay the redshirt base to make up the numbers, so the protests will be easily controlled by the police.

Flowers and chocolate would have been a much more mature and devious response with an invitation to aimless lengthy discussions and postponements giving the impression of inclusiveness and an opportunity to set up several panels and inquiries into the possibility of considering adopting the protesters demands and dragging the whole process out until everyone forgets what the whole point was. This approach is the one which "true democracies" around the world take and has proven quite effective in engendering the illusion of the democratic process. It appears that those in power have neither the maturity nor the deviousness required for "true democracy".

Triple F  ,  you are now in charge of the marketing dept.    Your assignment, if you choose to take it (refuse at your own peril ???? )  is to create and submit for the team to review ( always need to say there is a "team" )............ propoganda  instructional slogans to be paraded out to the  dumb citizens eager public who so need our guidance.  I look forward to your forward looking forwards.

things will get really serious and worrisome at around 500k daily, and that will also be where things start to get dangerous, as it will mean other factions will be present as well. If the footclappers come out in force, it might turn ugly.

Usurpers have direct connection to CCP, they know how it's done. Let's see if there's a new "security law" next.

I posted this in another Op regarding the Governments heavy handedness and now infringing on the rights of all people including foreigners who rely on transport in the capital.
