I use Kodi every day to watch content.  Watch Netflix, Amazon prime, Stan, Foxtel, local tv channels and Plex through Kodi as well as my own personal movie and tv library. Addons come and go that is true but the good ones such as Seren, The Crew, Shadow, 7 of 9, Venom, Fen and others provide quality entertainment with no fuss at all.

I also use Real Debrid which provides many quality links to watch the content I want. Real Debrid is very inexpensive and well worth the cost  As for Kodi being complicated there are many tutorials available on the net to assist and once you have learnt the basics it is amazingly simple to use.

i made Kodi work for me but eventually even the reliable addons died. The ones you mention I've never heard of, probably 3-4 years old only?

Bear in mind many older people struggle with using a smartphone so for them to set up Kodi and maintain it with reliable addons is just too much trouble. What usually happens is they buy a preloaded box and slowly but surely it crashes and burns

There is a place in the TV market for a strong service legitimate  IPTV provider globally .

Yes there is a place for that in the market, but is impossible for that to ever become reality.

Broadcasting companies sell the rights to their programs, and they cost millions of dollars for just 1 country.

So a Sky premier league stream is simply not allowed to be made available in Thailand, at any price you would want to pay for it, because here the broadcasting rights for that match are sold for many millions of dollars to another company.

So I don't think there would be one company financially that strong that they could buy the rights for the whole world or even a part of it, and even then there would be a lot of objection from the local providers in each country.

You will have noticed that Facebook and Amazon, the 2 financial strongest companies in the world, have playing with that idea.

For both it would only have been for certain games, and in a small part of the world. Facebook in the end dropped the idea, while Amazon has a few games, but I think only available in the UK.

Mobdro is simple to use, it's just an app like those you find on Play store. Kodi is often complicated. Addons constantly crash and burn when the spotty kids find a girlfriend. As for sport live streams, a total PITA

I tried to install Mobdro on my Android TV but keep getting message "unable to open file" I have allowed unknown sources in Security, so not sure why it won't install.

Did you try Dark? One of the best ever on NF, but it's work. After a false start, I really got into it.

And the main reason for that is that people think that all boxes are equal. Why pay 5k for a decent one, when you can get one for 900 Baht as well. Of course nothing can be further from the truth. Why does a Toyota cost more than a Chinese Chery , while both in principle can take you from point A to B? It's the very same reason

Usual straw man argument. Nobody thinks that a Toyota is the equal of a Chinese Chery, whatever that is, and it's easy to multiply examples. So not the very same reason.

If all people need is a Chinese Chery, and can buy 5 of them in later models over the years for the initial outlay of a Toyota anyway, then to buy a Chinese Chery is a rational decision and good on 'em. So we have quite a few posters who've done exactly that and are happy. I had a B600 box for nearly 5 years, no problems and only stopped using it to give it away to lady in need. ???? For upgrading I looked at all the premium solutions, which I can afford, but knew I'd be fine w/ a B1000 box. And so I am. WOT???

Kinda reminds me of the sneering at Volkswagen Beetles by all the superior owners of the decent Big Gas Guzzlers when the Bugs were first imported. Especially after they looked under the hood.???? One thing we're quite good at here, though, no matter our other limitations: spending other people's money.

Off topic, but quickly in the interest of forum support: a good idea to be highly encouraged.

Fewer replies on your part would improve the signal/noise ratio on the forum and conserve precious web space. Though this would also deprive me of the entertainment they once provided, it would also save my own time and that of the mods when you finally resort to name-calling. So I'm prepared to sacrifice for the betterment of our beloved forum.????

Please check that there isn't something wrong with your blocking button (try a different browser) and also for any expiration date on the block. Some of our autocratic members promise to block then don't. Reminds me of those perpetual Pattaya leavers who won't leave. Others block for a time then mysteriously the block somehow disappears. Musta been that pesky upgrade.

In case of issues, kindly contact official forum support. Cheers!

Reports of some apps being harder to load on android TV, maybe someone can give advice. Try loading to a tablet to test which should be easy.

You could try a different source for mobdro. I usually choose the first or second choice when i search google "mobdro android apk download"

Filelinked is a good source for most of the apps. All the information is available via Google or Youtube.

You can also try different versions. You don't necessarily need the latest version of everything.

Everything about True Visions is testament to why a nation should never allow a monopoly. I downgraded to the 500 baht a month plan.

A better deal is the true fiber. 500 baht a month includes a 500mbps internet connection and a streaming box, which gives me access to alot of news outlets and much more.

You have in another post mentioned which cheap crappy box you have, and that box has some serious issues, which you probably aren't even aware of , or just want to deny. I can prove you the issues that particular box has from technical sources, not paid youtube reviews

In fact every box with a S905X2 or S905X3 processor and Android 9 has issues, but they differ from different brand boxes. Because that processor was developed specifically to produce cheap boxes. The S912 or the new S922 processors are a different kind, but you will not find them in cheap boxes.

I sell Android boxes for the last 7 years, and load them with my own custom firmware, which is a bit different from the smartphone firmware with a custom launcher that is installed on your crappy box, but you have really a wealth of no idea what you are talking about.

ATV is a different operating system from vanilla Android, and some apps will simply not work on it, because they are developed for stock Android only. Most of the apps developed for stock Android can be sideloaded on ATV, but they may have limitations where some functions don't work.

You will see that some apps have a specific ATV version for that reason

Is there another way to get this onto a Smart 4K Android TV without using a HDMI lead? My PC is too far away from the TV.

Do  you have a (WiFi) network? just install Jellyfin server on your computer, you can use plex or emby but they cost money (although plex is free, there are paid features), then install the Jellyfin or Plex app on your TV and stream from your computer to TV over WiFi.

I'm sure this has been asked many times, but please indulge me.  After fighting with their useless customer service department, I have cancelled my True Vision TV package.  I need an alternative box that gives me access to NFL, Western News, Formula 1, Moto GP, some movies maybe.  I'm not really that interested in anything else on TV.  I have heard that there are a number of set top boxes available that can access TV channels, either by satellite or internet.  I am looking for a 'one off' solution, so no monthly payments.  An recommendations please?

A good topic....  We have truevision in out renal condoes we viist once every 3 months or so, I enjoy some of the channels but what gets me is the reception varies greatly from time to time.. and staff have no idea why... if it was up to me I would scrap it too...  Be carefulll of the boxes.. in my 10 years here I have bought 2 and both are disapointing rubbish ... one was 5 k the later 7k ..

they are <deleted> andseem to outdate fast.. even though the latter is android thus you would think its app upgradable dependant...  hate em ...  good luck and update us..

Netflix is absolutely brilliant. so much good content

Agree, they rocked the market with their resonable pricing, what is it?  15usd/month for 5 connections best package.. remembers where you were up to, runs on minimal bandwidth.. just wish it was FHD .... I wish them all the best.... (see that thailand?  resonable prices = more clients = more money.. simple maths!) I never had any luck explaining that to the corner girl.. the LB's get it though.. smarter I guess...

Use internet TV.  A lot of channels from around the world.  Low cost and many have Catch Up features to allow you to watch shows from earlier days in the week that you may have missed.

Android OS updates happen fast indeed, and they are not always an improvement. For me Android 7.1.2 is still the most stable to date, and I avoid the newer ones, we are now at 10, because too many bugs.

If you can update your OS (operating system) depends on your box manufacturer, but also on the processor manufacturer. Budget boxes are just that, they are produced to sell as cheap as possible, and as I said already in another post, cheap and support don't go together.

Another thing is that with each OS upgrade google releases a new SDK ( software development kit), and if the processor manufacturer doesn't build a new SDK for that processor, you also can't upgrade the OS,

So for example an Amlogic S912 processor can run not higher than Android 7, because Amlogic didn't release an SDK for newer Android versions for that particular processor.

The Netflix 15$ plan is UHD, but you need a Netflix certified box, otherwise you can watch only up to HD, and you  can't even install the latest Netflix version.

This is a list of Netflix certified devices

Same as above, you need a Youtube certified box to stream anything higher than HD, or install Youtube Vanced.

Most brand name smartphone or smart tv will be YouTube and Netflix certified.

I read that the Nvidia shield is good for gaming but I have no interests in gaming but streaming only . Is the Nvidia shield superior to the H96 pro android box for streaming ?

A Nvidia shield is well recommended, but they are a lot of money, imho. My TV is a Tizen OS Samsung, and doesn’t always have the apps I require, so I bought a fireTVstick, it’s OK, but thinking I should have bought a 4K model, I sometimes see artifacts in dark scenes when streaming locally.

Currently I am not a netflix subscriber, I used to be in the USA and used a VPN here to get it for various reasons I gave it up

I have been told if one subscribes to Netflix Thailand and uses a VPN with the USA as an address it will automatically give access to all the USA content, CAN ANYONE SHED ANY LIGHT ON THIS

If you use a VPN that has a US Netflix server you will get the content available to US customers.

Not all VPN''s have a Netflix server that works. It is the same as with BBC Iplayer, connecting to a UK server will most likely not work, as they detect you are using a VPN.

I'm told that when Netflix started in Thailand, there was a lot more content available on the US server, but that gap is getting smaller as new content is released

Thank you this is helpful, I used to use express VPN and they had dedicated servers in USA for Netflix, I switched to Vypr Vpn after several years and it works the best for me, I will enquire  which USA server to use, and then try thai netflix,

I will report back over the next few weeks

Happy Christmas Everyone, we are very fortunate to be happily here in Thailand

So Pulse T.V. for us thickies.  If I cancelled True Vision , my box and my Sat. dish get taken away.

With Pulse T.V. you have to buy a box plus pay x amount each month .

But will I still need a Sat. dish on my roof ?

Yes, that is a downside to Kodi, that a bit of maintenance is often required.

I bought a new box recently and that came with Kodi installed, I just deleted it and installed a copy from my old box that I had set up myself.

Anyone interested in Kodi should try and set it up themselves, not that difficult, once you have installed one addon others become easy. I have only ever used a few addons and they all worked in much the same way, I think all Exodus based.

The latest version of Exodus is a great improvement, particularly with the links as I also use Real Debrid.

Been trying to find a solution that works for over 10 years and still looking till this day...

I often resort to YouTube as it always works flawlessly, then for TV/Movies torrent download them and plug in the HDMI

Sports are difficult to find a good stream, but then the live Premier League games I watch with an early kick-off can be found on normal tv after flicking through the channels. I'm usually passed out by the time the other games start so not worth paying the premium

One budget option I would recommend for movies/TV series is to download the HBO Go app, it includes a free trial and is only 150 baht a month after. The app offer both live TV and on-demand. Though it's limited I would say it's better than Amazon Prime.

PS- If you want Netflix for an additional month you can cancel your bank card and get a replacement for 100 baht, which works out cheaper than subscribing longer term 555

You can load google play store or any other apk apps on your smart TV with the android smart phone app called "send files to TV". Download the app on your android phone and set it up. It's real simple and works fine.
