Covid in Khon Kaen?

Featured Replies

My wife told me last night she had seen a Thai news report a case of covid had been reported in Khon Kaen.

Can anyone confirm this?

(I'm posting here as the covid forum says if the topic is specific to an area, to post in that forum)

Why not ask the wife for a link ?

A link is not easy for her... She remembers read it on the Thai Rath facebook page.

Ten minutes ago a friend of hers who is a nurse in Udon hospital has sent a message to say there's a case in Udon.

It's possible,,,but you need to be very wary of the Thai gossip network.....just some good advice...I've learned the  hard way,,,it may not be real

There's one in Khon Kaen reported here: https://www.matichon.co.th/region/news_2496743
A 24-year old Khon Kaen native who went to work in a factory Samut Sakhon on 30 November. She started feeling unwell on 17-18 December, went to stay with her sister in Bangkok 20-21 December, then took a bus back to Khon Kaen on 21 December.

This map does not show any cases of covid 19 since April. Click on KK here for info. https://covid19.ddc.moph.go.th/en

The Khon Kaen case was announced at 9.30 last night, which is after the last update of the map.

Where I am currently in Loei, there were some specific rumours flying around about several cases in nearby villages.  All proved to be false. Don't believe everything from the gossips.

Since yesterday no other news in our LINE family (group).

One granddaughter in Khon Kaen, one in Korat, one in Samut Phrakan.

None will visit us for new year.

Confirmation of at least three infections in Udon Thani, linked to seafood merchants returning from Samut Sakhon. One of them could be from Nong Sung which was the first one mentioned earlier this morning about 10 miles south of the city.

The Governor made a statement a few hours back and at least one school has cancelled tomorrow which would have been the last official day before the brief holidays.

Lateral flow test for an 'instant' determination with a PCR test at the same time for backup results in less than 24-hours.
