Unbelievable! He lives there and is the MP for the area! Someone should tell him that this is his problem and he should be the one dealing with it, not bleating about central government.

But, those who "maybe" making a few quid monthly on the side, have guns......????

Maybe someone in higher up the policemen department was overwriting his decision or order. Some inner politics is not something new especially in Thailand. This MP probably just a small pawn in police/military rank. A least he speaks out.

A dicey topic , but when the cards are down isn't amazing that the "BIG WHEELS" would have the audacity to spin without "Higher Authority' .

Of course like all pro gambler's they may have covered themselves with "Insurance", the ace in the hole, not to be confused with any similar metaphor, by order"

Do you think no one here is cashing in on what is illegal? No one in the government?

I mean over here.

Of course they are, just like they were in Melbourne was in the 80’s.

Cops, council and government.

It didn’t bother me then, doesnt bother me now. If people want to gamble then I think it is up to them.

In fairness to Prayut, it's actually the responsibility of the Police.

In 1998 repsonsibility for the RTP shifted from the Mininstry of the Interior to the PM's office.

So in fairness, Prayut is the top cop.

Back on topic, there's a reason why casinos will never be legalized here.

Imagine this MP will get a visit from some local chieftans.

Obviously the police chief runs the show not the MP for Rayong.

But is does look a tad embarrassing as he recently said there are no gambling dens in his area.

Pigs getting their troughs full.

P.s, I never thought I would ever write a passage defending the great dictator, but fair is fair.

But also in fairness, isn’t Prayut as PM, the Minister responsible for the RTP?

how come there are still gambling dens in the province, making Rayong the second biggest hotspot after Samut Sakhon in the new wave of Covid-19?”

Covid outbreak: No illegal casinos in Rayong, claims provincial police chief

If the chief says there's none that's an admission to being guilty. most likely he owns the dens or at least has a Hand  in them.

And in NSW back in the 1960's the top receiver was the Premier by the name of Askin. Went to several casinos and SP bookies at that time.

What I really liked about the SP bookies is that the local police had $10 on the winner of the last race in Sydney every Saturday. But they were only small fry.
