PHUKET: More than 2,000 male inmates were transferred to the new Phuket Provincial Prison in Bangjo, Srisoonthorn, today (Dec 29) as an early New Year’s gift to the prisoners who had remained incarcerated at the long-overcrowded prison in Phuket Town.

In total, all 2,308 male prisoners who were serving sentences at the old prison were moved to the new facility in Bangjo, built at a cost of B789 million under a project that took nearly five years to complete.

The only prisoners remaining at the old prison in Phuket Town tonight are the 520 female prisoners serving sentences there, Prison Commissioner Suchart Silapachai told The Phuket News today.

If you take the time to read the link, they packed the prisoners in 40 to a truck. That's more than livestock !

Yep, it's called The Hillbilly Covid Social Distancing Scheme.

I've seen them load more school children in the back of a pickup truck!

I like the way the report calls the prisoners 'Guests'. Brings images to mind of fresh white towels and mints on their pillows when they arrive. I hope the room service is good

Went to the old prison this morning, to visit and give my MIL a carton of cigars and some chewing tobacco. She is very greatful for the additional room, plenty of space to stretch out all 150 kilo of herself.

Woar, I'm really confused now. I am not sure if I should feel sorry or happy for you. On the one hand you have an extremely overweight, smoking, criminally convicted MIL. On the other hand your MIL doesn't come for visits...
