British nationals could be barred from entering Thailand under new proposals

Have you been hiding under a rock ?
people often don’t test positive until day  12 after catching the virus.
They also may have caught it at the airport or on the flight after the test.

Since the UK mutation is reportedly so much easier to catch, they'll probably have caught it from a Thai person on the flight from UK, given the idiocy of not requiring Thai nationals to do a Covid test prior to flight.

If they're that worried about the UK mutation, simply ban all arrivals from UK. Or at the very least, require all arrivals from UK to do a  Covid test prior to flight.

So despite a clear COVID Fit to Fly test, insurance and 15 days ASQ, Brits won't be allowed to come in. What if they agree to buy a condo?

  • Save lives. Ban them now.

  • Ahh they are loving this one. Anutins New Years wish has come true. Frame it as coming from the west, ignore the fact the recent outbreak started because of illegal, (but tolerated) foreign worker

People from the UK shouldn't be leaving to go on holiday anywhere outside the UK - and there shouldn't be anyone arriving either.

A national lockdown may hurt the economy, as we have seen so many TVF members post on different threads, but the fact is that if you initiate a harsh lockdown until the virus is eradicated, then you're going to be laughing happily to the bank. China did this and is now the only economy that is growing. China should never be an example of anything, as they have a terrible human rights record. However, I think we can all acknowledge that they contained the virus (which started in China) successfully.

Plague island (UK) needs to be shut off from the world - only goods and emergency travel should be allowed. If these measures had been implemented at the very begining then perhaps the UK wouldn't be in this situation. Approaching 60k cases a day now. Quite what this family of four was thinking is beyond me. They've now selfishly prevented any Brits still waiting to get back to their families here, all because they wanted a holiday. Selfish a-holes.

I'm far from a conspiracy theorist, but I am becoming very suspicious about all this Covid nonsense. I don't for one minute think that the governments are colluding to control us, nor are the Illuminati doing it. But I really feel that the hugely wealthy drugs companies are doing all they can to make sure we all stay 'in fear' and only get glimmers of hope now and then. They're cashing in BIG TIME, and the politicians around the world are either stupid, spineless or corrupt (mostly all three).

Why oh why are we supposed to believe that this regular-type virus (it's not the first corona, is it?) might be stronger than vaccines and that people can become reinfected? I think we all need to open our eyes a bit more, especially about the mainstream media we believe in.

Corona virus is a reference to what it looks like under a microscope, there are 100s of corona virus's including the common cold.

Covid is a type of corona virus more infectious and deadly than other corona viruses.

I'm the only Brit I care about, and I'm already here ......... ban away!

I can see the day coming where Thailand only allows Chinese to enter the country.

Which is what the government wanted all along.

Yes it is.

Voting for an incompetent set of clowns is one thing, if that's what the people want then so be it.

Having an incompetent set of clowns forced upon you is out of your hands and you have no say in the matter.

I would sleep better at night knowing that at least I had a choice in which people screwed my country up.

Just for the record, I have never voted in my life and I never will ????

As well as being chosen by popular mandate, the government in the UK is accountable and removable.

Not so in many other countries, including Thailand.

Sorry to say they absolutely should be but then again so should Americans.

Can't see that myself,

the leaders of the western world must have had the best security and protection available to mankind, and yet they  still all managed to catch COVID (Trump/Johnson/Makron), so what hope is there for the rest of us lesser beings?

I see the point of banning people from the Uk to get in countries where there is no quarantine. The strain is just really bad and it thriving in the UK.

But Thailand has state quarantine so what is the problem. Are they afraid that their standards are not up to spec ? I mean the precautions in the state quarantine are quite good tests are done and people kept isolated.

I don't see why they should exclude Brits in this country.

Common sense really. Americans should be banned as well. Needs only be temporary but there is no reason to risk introducing a new possibly far more contagious strain to the country.

As many as 50 countries either have or continue to impose a temporary ban on flights from the UK.

They should never have opened the doors in the first place.

British nationals are not to blame,

the incompetent set of clowns running the country are!

Bwahahaha As far as covid response. I'd take prayut over Boris or Trump any day mate. Your joking.

I'm betting it's already here since months. And not many countries were equipped to test for it then. And I'm betting thailand was not one of them.

Allowing people in regardless of so called quarantine has opened pandora's box

Sure, Thailand can find it. Thailand was the first country outside China to genetically sequence the SARS-2 COVID gene before China announced the sequence on Jan 12.

Thailand also discovered B.1.1.7 in the four Brits in ASQ by sequencing their virus genomes.

This mutant strain is probably all over the world by now. You think it just likes the UK?

  • Popular Post

Looks like another case of being OTT.....

I predicated yesterday UK banned within 7days. Good move but I do feel for those trapped yet again away from loved ones

Sadly this will now stay in place IMO untill all thais are vaccinated, probably early 2022

If there is any ray of sunshine, it shows that the UK can take a product originally developed in China, improve it. and then export it.

There is a real fog of war thing at the moment, I could of sworn that I read UK was banned already

No they shouldn't.

it's about travellers from the UK, not about british nationals.

probably they would also barr arrivals from  south africa and few other countries, where this mutation is already present.

Sorry but your talking <deleted> there. It will be anyone with a British passport regardless where they are in the world. You simply wont be allowed to book a ticket when you have a british passport. There would be to much other problems if they tried any other way.

I could fly to dubai have acouple of weeks holiday there then get a ticket to thailand so technically im a british traveller from Dubai.

Dam it. Just when I was warming to the idea of spending my holidays in a hotel cell.

I would hold fire with your predictions until an official announcement is made. Not to say you are incorrect in your assumption but the headlines one day are sometimes a little different  tomorrow shall we say.

Will it be as easy to break as things made in China?

I thought this was a little joke, then realised that it's probably what a lot of scientists are wondering right now!

Why should Thailand take chances? This second strain hysteria, with its arbitrary 70% greater contagion, came from Matt Hancock and his cohort of 'experts' in the first place, so the British only have themselves to blame.
