Blocking Pop Up Adverts

Featured Replies

The problem with Pop Up Adverts when using Microsoft Edge seems to have considerably increased of late. Has anyone tried using AdLock and if so how effective was it.

Once I have downloaded it does it work automatically

Once you have installed it a little green shield icon appears up near the top right of your screen.

I think, as far as I can remember you may have to turn it on, but not sure.

Once it's running a little window will appear with the number of ads blocked on a particular page. On this TV page it is currently showing 14 ads blocked ????

If some ads slip through, say like banners, you have the option of highlighting those blocks of ads and adding the "don't show" list.

I don't have ANY ads showing on my TV pages.

As I said this AdGuard is a free extension from the Microsoft shop so no worries about virus or such.

If you don't like it just go to  "Extensions" by clicking the three dots on the top right of Edge and switch it off or delete it.

it works automatically once you closed the browser, when you start it again it filters out trash, and if you go to settings you have option to block even more filth

Update. Had problems signing into Bangkok Bank account with AdGuard and after discussion with their Head Office I am now using a different browser to sign in online with them.

You can select to disable AdGuard on any site you want, like your bank.

Just for your information AdGuard also works as an extension on Chrome

Sounds good, I also have the same problem, but I wonder what other things Adblock (and similar apps) gets it's fingers into and how it interferes with your privacy. Any comments on that much appreciated.

Any problems with accessing internet banking?

I found these add on blockers can adversely some web sites...including my own web sites....I think I solved the problem by using Firefox. The increased use of multimedia and video adverts made some sites unusable. Possibly on of the few reasons to use Firefocks.

Don't know what the owners of this page are doing but this new pop up between pages is ridiculous

Is that popup 'lite page is ready'?

Using Edge go to your

edge://settings/privacy

Choose Strict and look below on that page for other details.

No pop-ups nor ads on this site, by the way, for me anyway.
