Do NOT understand why the Capitol was not defended?!? <deleted>?!? This Trump-Squad was just allowed to take it over. How and why was this permitted?

That's something people are questioning worldwide. How can one of the most important federal buildings in the US be overrun by a bunch of protesters.

They knew the protesters had planned the event, but still not a lot of security.

I actually think that shocked most people following the livestreams.

How the heck was it so easy to gain entrance.

Chief of the Capitol police resigned.  The sargent at arms is about to quit.  And more heads will roll.

Chao just resigned her cabinet spot. (McConnell's billionaire wife).  A few resigned who were working for Melania.  One of Trump's campaign lawyers resigned....and the list goes on, and on, and on...

Rats jumping from a burning ship.

Add Mick Mulvaney to the list of rats.

Just heard [Trump] deliver a teleprompter speech (obviously because there were too many bigly words). Lackluster, he totally didn't believe the words.

Trump and his seditious, tin foil hat wearing lunatics have gone too far with this one. America the rest of the world is watching. Get your house in order.

If the USA started to clean it's own backyard decades ago, without pretending to clean other nations garbage, the US would have never fallen into this state.

Very sad, but it is the truth.

Will it ever recover?

Actually, the 2 are not connected at all.  What's happening in the US, the GOP, etc, has nothing to do with overseas actions.  Nada.

In the aftermath of events why have such a long change over period it should be within days. I think, once again the good ol Pres was using ( as usual) the people for his own means , I believe he has a meeting in the state of NY courts after he leaves the White house a, a little matter of tax.

Yeah I read that several people resigned.

It's predictable that some Republicans would turn against Trump, but I'm a bit surprised about the 2 leading officers at Capitol.

If there is foul play involved it's very bad new and could lead to arrests of law enforcement people.

The forced resignations so far are the small fry.  The ones who have to answer for their actions beyond Trump are the acting heads of the Depts of Defense, Homeland Security, Justice, and the military themselves.

I know you've seen this, but I find it amazing...supposedly, many more are coming....

Mulvaney is disgusting.  One of Trump's biggest enablers.

In 2016 I voted for Trump and again in 2020 (absentee and before his latest round of antics).

He has been a mad man for 4 years and you finally found out after voting twice for him?

Well seems like they are doing what they can to get in touch with some of the protesters.

And DeVos, IMO one of the worst ones.

She was pure evil. NO WAY she should have been in that position. She had never been involved in any education system. She was just an owner of MULTIPLE yachts, so she had that "in."

In fact, this one seemed pretty benign in comparison, with no burnt cars, buildings or destroyed businesses.

Very benign, they did destroy a building, stole mail of government officials, killed a cop and wounded 50 of them:

The point is, where was all the condemnation from officialdom when they were burning down huge swaths of so many cities last summer, night after night after night?  The officials only seem to get upset when it happens to them, not giving a rat about the thousands of people whose homes, businesses and vehicles were looted and burned out.

If they had given a rat about the public last summer, a lot of those ringleaders would have been in jail instead of Washington DC.  It's not as if these guys came out of nowhere, or were unknown to authorities.  It's coming out now that their plans were posted on the interweb for weeks in advance.

But maybe preventing the tragedy wouldn't serve their purpose.

Where do you get your news, Fox?  Biden and others condemned any and all violence.  But you won't read that on the alt right news outlets.

But even Fox did have one article about this.

Biden condemns Antifa, violence 'across the board' amid riots

Biden, a Democrat who defeated the Republican president in the Nov. 3 election and is due to take office on Jan. 20, said the activity of the protesters "borders on sedition."

...The former vice president said that for demonstrators to storm the Capitol, smash windows, occupy offices, invade the halls of Congress and threaten the safety of duly elected officials: "It's not a protest, it's insurrection."

Looks like the months'-long Antifa/Burn-Loot-Murder riots been put in the Memory Hole already.
